Mike McCarthy's Ego cost us this game

Is it coaching? Or is it messages delivered to the coaches?

There is 0 doubt in my mind that the Joneses influence game plans, Booger even approves them, and the play calling featuring a certain highly paid player.

And this was a face off with one of the best QB’s in the game and a chance to show off.

Jerry is also petty enough to do just that.

A poor plan or coaching meltdown did us in. As MM said in his press conference, plans were to go for it, as early as 2nd down......and you completely abandoned the run on 3rd down......you're pass happy and your OC is going to get you fired soon.

I was fine with the call… go win it.

this team has to many pampered babies. Can’t handle adversity. I’m 100% ok with going for it and getting the win.

The only reason this guy went for it on 4th down in OT was to prove GB was wrong in letting him go. This team came out flat and unprepared after the bye. AGAIN!

Penalties reared their ugly head. AGAIN.

This man should have been fired after San Fran last season. A coach coming out and saying they are going to work on penalties in the offseason is a guy not worried about his performance or losing his job.

If you are going to not take the points in OT at least take the play calling out of your pass happy OC's hands and die on your own play. Oh wait. He cant do that because he doesn't even know the playbook. Penalties have been the Achilles heel of this team since MM took over. They always seem to make boneheaded mistakes at crucial times. Its incredible. I even think that the late hit on Aaron Jones in the first was a plan by MM to assert his dominance on his former team.
It was like all MM cared about was the limelight on him, dressing up like Lombardi pregame not deferring throwing the headset down, and trying to prove the Packers made a mistake because he’s as good as VL. Pretty sad look imho, looks like he spent more time looking for a coat than a game plan,

I really don’t understand why so many people are upset about not kicking a FG. Green Bay still gets the ball back and had scored 2 TD’s in their last 3 possessions.

Green Bay then proved him correct by easily marching down to the 10 yard line. You really think we were keeping them out of the end zone?

So if we kick the field goal and Green Bay goes and scores a TD then he’s an idiot for not going for it when he knew the defense wasn’t going to hold them and we had success on 4th down all game.

Believing in Dak to complete a pass in a pressure situation costed us the game.
They shouldnt have even been passing. If you know your going for it on 4th down. Run the ball. Run it again. And run it again. The whole 4th quarter i was sitting there screaming to stop throwing the ball. MM wanted to prove to the packers they were in the wrong. Dressing up like Lombardi etc. Then not telling his dumb OC to stop throwing the ball. GB stuck to the run. Look what happened.

Hes an idiot for knowing he was going for it on 4th and not running the ball on second and third down. Then calling a pass play with 2 yards to go. His ego got in the way of a win.

A field goal would not have helped. A TD would have guaranteed the win.

I liked the call personally. The way our defense was playing a FG did us no good even in OT

I liked it also, 52 yards would have been a tough FG try at the time also.

I didn't care for the play selection.

MM is no trashier than anyone employed by this team, players included. They all suck and this team will amount to nothing come the end of the reign for all these players and coaching staff.

Fat Mike is a fraud. He made this Green Bay game all about himself…I don’t care that he spent 13 years there. Big deal…13 years in a lifetime…what a joke people like that are.

I don't think Mike's ego had anything to do with turnovers, giving up big plays, and a total team collapse in the 4th quarter. He's not on the field.

I was and still fine with the decision. Watching the replays though, I have to wonder why we didn't have one more option than Pollard for a short completion. The outside receiver ran a deep route and it looked like Schultz was going to run a 10-15 yard route. Should of tried to run a quick pass play to Schultz or CDL or a draw.

Some coaches can cure penalties in a week or two.
To be fair Mike's only had 10 months.
Don't be so critical

The decision to go for it on 4th down was a good one. The decision to pass the ball on 3rd down was a bad one. Should have run the ball on 3rd down if you know you are in 4 down terriority. No excuse for that. Just bad coaching.
That Draw play when used was brilliant. Would have been another perfect opportunity to use it. The pressure was getting closer to Dak and it would have most likely been a first down since the front 4 of green bay we're looking to T Off at that point.

His ego certainly played a part in that. Those are all errors in execution. Which is what the coaches are supposed to preach. Especially on a bye week. Instead MM was busy looking for his Lombardi matching jacket.

They had NO chance of winning if they let Rodgers have the ball in OT. Mike tried to avoid it and had faith in the team to execute. It was the right call.

Do you know that Mahar wasn't kicking the ball past the goal line on kickoffs on that side? If the Cowboys miss the field goal, GB gets better field position. I don't mind the call and it's certainly not the reason we lost. I get it that your mad but you aren't seeing things clearly. An undisciplined Cowboys team has existed long before MM. What's the constant? That's where your blame needs to go.
