Mike McCarthy's Ego cost us this game

I really don’t understand why so many people are upset about not kicking a FG. Green Bay still gets the ball back and had scored 2 TD’s in their last 3 possessions.

Green Bay then proved him correct by easily marching down to the 10 yard line. You really think we were keeping them out of the end zone?

So if we kick the field goal and Green Bay goes and scores a TD then he’s an idiot for not going for it when he knew the defense wasn’t going to hold them and we had success on 4th down all game.
Most playcalling critics in CowboysZone are football moron!

I bet you believe not deferring was a great idea by our HC as well. His ego was our downfall yesterday. Glad the penalties were the major focus this offseason.

The only reason this guy went for it on 4th down in OT was to prove GB was wrong in letting him go. This team came out flat and unprepared after the bye. AGAIN!

Penalties reared their ugly head. AGAIN.

This man should have been fired after San Fran last season. A coach coming out and saying they are going to work on penalties in the offseason is a guy not worried about his performance or losing his job.

If you are going to not take the points in OT at least take the play calling out of your pass happy OC's hands and die on your own play. Oh wait. He cant do that because he doesn't even know the playbook. Penalties have been the Achilles heel of this team since MM took over. They always seem to make boneheaded mistakes at crucial times. Its incredible. I even think that the late hit on Aaron Jones in the first was a plan by MM to assert his dominance on his former team.

Field goals in colder weather are much tougher and he liked the percentage of a conversion better. I didn't hate the call, just the called play. Penalities remain a big problem I don't have an answer why certain players make dumb mistakes at the wrong time.

Well. The guy that coached in GB for 18 years should know that penalties are called differently there. Unfortunately he must have spent the bye week getting his new cool jacket tailored.

I don't care about the coin toss yesterday. Some of you guys just look for everything you can to start crying about.

We were up 28-14 midway through the 4th quarter yesterday. Our loss had absolutely zero to do with the coin toss decision. Absolutely zero!

LOL. When we lose a game on the road to a team that had no business being in the game because of boneheaded penalties and stupid play calls. Yeah we can cry about it.

If they missed the kick, that would have been the wrong call.

Our OC has yet to learn game management.....14 pt lead in the 4th quarter......GB getting hot.....move the chains.....challenge manhood, run the clock with the ground attack. Nope, let's pass and pass, and pass. Look at the Run/Pass unbalance.....look at GB's.

True.

This is on McCarthy, since he's the one who schedules the approximate amount of runs/passes. And the game plan in general.

I disagree! It was a long field FG in cold weather and the defense was tired and not going to stop the Packers so he played for the win.

My only issue is if they knew they were going to go on 3rd down why not run the ball? Even if you only get 2 or 3 yards it changes the entire dynamic and gives you a lot more options on 4th down. Plus they ran it down their throats in OT. That said hard to cry about going to Lamb, he had a great game and it was clearly PI.

You keep moving the goal posts. You were talking about the coin toss. But yes, if you want to be upset about the penalties and situational playcalling then go for it. It was bad yesterday. I don't think Dak Prescott should have thrown 46 passes yesterday.

I am not moving the goalposts. All of the reasons i have stated revert back to MM caring more about his ego than winning this game.

The third down was a good playcall and the missed penalty was ridiculously bad (refs were worse than usual yesterday across the league)

Such an idiotic take seeing as how damn near every former nfl player and analyst agreed that going for it was the right call. The fact is Dak didn't execute so stop already with the excuses.

Then. In the words of Sandra Bullock.

RUN THE DANG BALL! Why this team got pass happy with a 14 point lead is mind boggling. Thats also. You guessed it. Coaching.

You mean Dak who has a history of changing run plays to pass plays, right?

Almost every analyst is also saying that the INTs were on Schultz and Lamb.

If you know you are going for it on 4th. Why not run to get closer to 4th and 1 or 4th and inches.
