Peira(sp) also said that the ref messed up on the TO strip. Were you just as livid about that call.

The refs sucked for both sides last night. But in general the refs have sucked for a long time. Time to clean up a lot of bad reffing.

I think they need to fix the replay challenge system. If a coach wins a challenge he should not lose the right to challenge later. I know that he has to win two to get one extra but that isn't right.

My suggesions

Make all questionable possession calls a booth review. Offense or defense

Allow one foot in possesions on complete passes or interceptions.

Allow penalties to be reviewed. I know you guys questioned the WAre offsides last night. Reviewing that play would get it right. REview pass interference and if the review doesnt show anything defining, then use the call on the field.

Some of these refs are 60 yrs old and they cant keep up with the speed of the game. Get them some replay help. It may slow the game down but isn't getting the call right more important than having a game end under 3 hrs.

And my last suggesion would be to not allow the Cowboys to ever challenge a call since they already have an unfair advantage with the collusion between Jerry Jones and the commisioners office. :D
They didn't screw up the strip call. The whistle blew and the play was dead. If the whistle hadn't blown, TO probably wouldn't have given the ball up.

obvious stuff. i'm amazed people are confused at this.

you cant just run over the guy without looking at the ball. LOL. that would make any scrub a "shutdown corner".

the reason it was called according to him on NFLN, was because the defender didn't have his head turned around when he tripped him, says it was the right call, and was glad the officials got together and discussed it

don't know if any1 posted this before

edit: misspelled his name, it's Peirria, probably misspelled it again, ****, you all know who I'm talking about

I am saying the head official for the league says they screwed up the entire playl. He said the ball should not have been blown dead in the first place. Of course once the "inadvertent whistle" happened, it was not challengeable. And TO did not give up the ball, it was taken from him. HE was fighting for the ball the whole way out of bounds.

TO got caught by surprise. His concentration comes and goes as evident by the dropped TD-turned-INT. Not killing him, just wish he had more of the heart and hands of #88 to match his speed & ellusiveness & toughness once he has the ball in firm grasp :)

Great call by the refs, the guy held his shoulder also which could have been the reason why they threw the flag...

Fax this to all the idiots on TV and radio.

All day people questioning the call when it was obvious.

The defender needs to be looking at the ball and playing the ball.

If they allowed defenders to trip WRs by simply running into their legs the passing game would be a non-factor.

I really love their argument "ah come on... dont let a penalty decide a big game" - uh, what? When its the difference between a TD or 3rd down... they better call it.

Probably that play was completely worn out of the tape because
Collinsworthless  must have replayed it ten times, insisting clearly the
defender had his head turned back at the ball.

Well, I think Collinsworth got confused because the defender DID initially look for the ball but turned back to look/chase at Austin when the tripping occurred...

I for one know the Cowboys got lucky on that call but they made the correct call at the time which was the whistle had stopped the play. Nothing can be done about it at that point. Same thing as the offside on Dware, If they call that right Dallas has the ball deep in your territory at the very start of the game, with your defenses inability to stop our offense how does that change the game?

We weren't livid about the interference call. We were livid that almost all of the TV and print media thought it shouldn't have been called and that Austin wasn't interfered with. You have to be blind to not see that as interference.

Regarding the TO situation we lucked out that the ref blew the whistle based on forward progress being stopped. That whistle makes anything else that happened irrelevant. Had the whistle not blown, then yes, he was stripped before he went out of bounds. And for the record, I don't think Owens gave up the ball after he heard the whistle.

An argument can be made that the whistle was legitimate too. That forward progress really had been stopped. I won't make that argument, but it could be made.

The refs sucked for both sides last night. But in general the refs have sucked for a long time. Time to clean up a lot of bad reffing.
I couldn't agree more. And if anything, it's getting worse. The officiating this year has been atrocious.

I don't think coaches would risk losing a time out to challenge a 5 yard penalty. Personally, I think a PI penalty should only be limited to 15 yards unless it is really blatant. Then, it could be a spot foul. (you know like the Williams PI on Austin:D)

And my last suggesion would be to not allow the Cowboys to ever challenge a call since they already have an unfair advantage with the collusion between Jerry Jones and the commisioners office. :D
I like your sense of humor. I've always thought the Cowboys were picked on and teams like the Cheats, Steelers and the Whiners in their heyday are the ones getting all the love.

Exactly. I would prefer we get better (a.k.a. full time) officials.

Besides the bad call on the Ware offsides, the roughing the punter vs. McBriar, and the late hit out of bounds on Crayton....I thought the officiating was the best and most accurate I have seen all year. :)

Kind of funny listening to M. Faulk talk about how the DB was looking back for the ball when it is extremely clear on that replay he wasnt looking back for the ball. His head was facing straight ahead at Austin.
