Mike Tomlin on players only meeting: not good

I disagree. Other teams have had them, and it helped.

Why would Dak or CD, or any other offensive player attend a defensive player meeting? I’m going to assume you missed that part and don’t have an agenda.

It’s certainly the earliest “players only” meeting I can remember. But like Tomlin said why did it need to be known? I would think they would say something about it after they go into GB and win.

Really. Are you new? Around here, you know nothing the Dallas Cowboys do will ever. Get by the media. Hell, sports alone in the NFL have people following him around 24 hours a day. It could have been that DB. Dude yelling at Prescott. I mean, it could be anybody that saw this happen that would report this to the media. I think that you're new. You think anything the Dallas Cowboys do? Would ever go unnoticed? You can't have privacy. Around there it's not happening... Half the stuff that gets out, they don't want it to get out. But it gets out. Most of it's because league rules. You have to give full access except for to some parts of strategic planning to the media, and that includes content creators. But there's so many people around the star and this team that there is no way to keep most things secret... They didn't go to the media and go, hey, we're having a meeting. How else do you think they it got out? It wasn't anybody that's truly official that let it out. It just got out...

You know, I want to hear how Mike Tomlin. Somehow just spoke gospel as if he can't be wrong. Come on people. This dude couldn't even get to the curl of his own house. How many players at have got in trouble under his watch? You know, blow UPS on the sideline and team locker rooms, all kinds of issues. I mean, he couldn't even. Keep control of George Pickens. George Pickens been a saint here, so maybe Mike Tomlin has his own problems to work out. He's got skeletons in his own house. Mean Duke couldn't build an offense to save his life... Also, I'm not trying to knock the guy. He had a great career, played in the NFL, but he doesn't know everything. Everything he says doesn't mean he's 100 percent correct. I just want to make sure people understood that this man had a lot of problems with his own team. And Mike Mccarthy just took his place. Let that sink in.lol

I think so. His job is not in jeopardy in my opinion. He will get one more year, not because of money, not because Jerry's cheap 'cause he understands the big transition there was. Going from a 43 to a 34. It's big. It needs more than one offseason. The purge, the old players. Then you had any injuries? I think you all are overreacting all of this. He kept around Jason Garrett for like over 10 years... We realized he fired those other coaches, but those other coaches were seasoned coaches that knew better, and they were all running the same 43 defense that was leftover for each other. That's a little different. He is not giving up on Parker after one season. I know you all think that, but you'd be very wrong. You want to keep a receipt? Come back and show me. I just don't think it's happening. I think he's gonna give him an opportunity to have two off seasons. To have this team come together and gel a little bit... The reason jerry's doing all this now and they're having all these conversations cuz they're trying not to have this season be a 3rd losing season in a row. But if he does get rid of somebody, it would be Schottenheimer and then Parker may not last. A new guy. That would be the only way he's gone..

He is absolutely right. The Head Coach is the leader of a football team. Player only meetings are "Mutiny on the Bounty" and does not end well for the Captain.

I think part of the problem last year and going into this year is the lack of a legit top dog leader on defense

It seems it's very difficult to create a successful environment when the owner/GM is incompetent. With that being the case, the head coach and his assistants are commonly incompetent as well. Then, it's very difficult to have favorable team results when such an environment has been established. The Cowboys' organization is an unfortunate example of that sad situation. Stephen does nothing to overcome that, since he tends to follow what his daddy insists upon. The issues start at the top.

what's good is relative. i don't believe in shotty or CP. so if this meeting brings coaching change sooner than later, it is good for me
