Mike Tomlin steps down

Brian Flores would be an interesting hire. 44 years old, so he could be another 15+ year Steelers coach, and he's the kind of defensive mastermind who would make that franchise proud.

Flores is an abrasive dude, and 15 years with him might be a long time. But I think the Steelers ownership would be willing to accommodate him.

I’ve never been very impressed with Tomlin. I did give Tomlin a few props though for being able to hold the world together when Antonio Brown was there. It sounds like that guy was a complete head case.

He has had a really solid organization, no real meddling from the owner and 19 years and one SB to show for it. That ram has been largely as irrelevant as the Cowboys even with those factors and the Cowboys changing coaches like underwear.

I would not want Tomlin anywhere near the Cowboys organization. But hey, that’s just my opinion.

I admire this coach for his toughness on the sidelines.
In a just world, Tomlin would be ours as HC.
He is certainly heads and shoulders better than Junior Schottenheimer.
Probably not an upgrade over Shotty.

Curt cignetti would send shockwaves across the league if Pittsburg hired him. He is from the area so it’s not far fetched even after he signed the contract
That would be perfect for the Steelers. They should probably make a run at him.

Big dog…This is truly hysterical were it not true
All kidding aside with Tomlin stepping down I wonder if his DC will be gone to. Don't know much about Teryl Austin but his defenses were ranked 12th, 8th, 6th and 11th the past 4 years. Does anyone know much about him?

He read the tea leafs . I got a 42 yr old QB looked bad vs a solid playoff defense and I’m not going to get a top shelf QB by next season . I don’t think Rooney fires him . Big TV $ next take time off from the grind of coaching .

Tomlin isn't spineless, so he would never be here. Even as a DC...imagine having your resume and having to take orders from Schotty (Jerry).

Still young enough to take a year or two off and have another 20 year stint with another franchise.

Rest up Mike.
The game has passed these older coaches up. The only "older coach" l'd consider right now is Harbaugh. Young and innovative coaches are the way of the future.
