Have you guys even watched Soccer before? Yeah, they do a lot of acting, but have you ever seen two guys go up for header at the same time and bang heads. When that happens there is often a lot of blood!! People have been killed playing Soccer before, not a wussy sport at all.

Have you ever watched Olympic table tennis? those balls are flying around so hard and fast, someone could get hurt if one were to hit the eye. Table tennis is not for wussies....No siree...

Has anyone ever been killed playing table tennis?

Just ignore JDub, he probably likes baseball, the most boring "sport"(If you can call it that, all you do is stand around) on the planet. Or NASCAR, even though driving around in a circle is the furthest thing from a sport. I had to turn off the telecast when every 5 minutes the idiots on the program kept saying "our sport" or "Sunoco race fuel" shaddup already.

LOL, yeah, but least us not forget about Water Volleyball... those fools could drown diving for the ball... the danger is so intriguing.

People have died eating a sandwich to. Back in the 70's you could of had a point, these days they are mostly hairband wearing pre-madonna's that look for incidental contact just to claim a free. I won't go into the many reasons I dislike the sport, but at the professional level these days it is played soft.

It's not a wussy sport if you're in elementary school.

Don't know why everyone is so nasty towards MV. He got slack for "dissing" Manning but no one came back and mentioned that Manning was slumping then and right after that his game improved a heck of a lot. Whether MV gets credit or not is obviously debatable but at least in hindsight he did nothing wrong. I also liked him for doing his own "icing" Everyone calls time outs to ice the kicker and he once called his own just to mock the process and hit the game winner after that anyway. I always thought he was cool. Dont get the acrimony against him here.

Are you frickin serious? I don't know what planet you were living on during the 2006 season, but I'm guessing they didn't televise Cowboys games there. Who cares about the Colts, when Vandershank was here he flat out SUCKED. The guy couldn't kick 30 yard field goals. That's why there's acrimony.

My issue with this board and Vanderjagt is the lame post hoc acrimony. Everyone wants to be an "I told you so" genius.

Here are the facts. We signed a guy who had season in and season out been one the league's best kickers.

He got here and he sucked. NO ONE could have seen that coming.

Oh I'll fully admit that, I thought it was a good signing at the time. But to look back on it now and wonder why Vanderjagt gets no love from Cowboy fans is bordering on severe retardation.

He shouldn't get any love. But for folks to retrospectively say it was a dumb signing is just as ********.

Exactly. It didn't work out, but it was certainly worth the chance...

Besides, Nick Folk erased our bad kicking woes anyway, so let's be happy.

If deaths are the determining factor for a "tough" sport then you have to include video gaming because a while back some guy gamed himself to death.

it did the same thing to the Bills kicker who missed against the Giants. he was never the same again. its so bad, i forgot his flippin name.

he and vandermiss are the football versions of mitch williams and brad lidge.....one bad piece of misfortune in big games and their careers go to complete dookie. The Bills kicker never recovered from missing the game winning kick in the SB........LACES OUT JIM....LACES OUT. Vandermiss never recovered from that miss against the Steelers, I believe it was. Williams never recovered from the HR by Joe Carter in the WS. Lidge never recovered from the HR by Albert "Satan" Pujols in the NLCS.....

these guys all had one thing in common.....very fragile psyches.....maybe they can all go to the nuthouse together and spend the rest of their lives playing bridge.

According to what I have been keeping up with Lidge has recovered quite well since going to the Phillies. He's been top notch all season long

People only trash him because he's a jerk... Which might be true, but being an intolerable a** doesn't make you any less of a good kicker (it just makes you an intolerable human being)[/quote]

And certainly less deserving of any kind of sympathy whatsoever. He is the biggest punk to ever put on a uniform. Look at those squinty, shifty eyes of his, he is a real douchebag.

I wish I would see this guy at a bar some time, I'd shoot pool and everytime I missed, I would yell "I just pulled a Mike Vanderjagt!"

And when he stumbled over in a drunken stupor to pick a fight, I would plant my size ten shoe right between his "uprights" if you know what I mean.

Squirm like the worm you are, squirm!!
