Mike Woicik to blame for bad back epidemic?

Every team has a lot of injuries. I wouldn't be surprised a large chunk of teams aren't having the same questions we are.

It's a violent game and players aren't as tough as they used to be regarding injuries. For good reason, these guys should be able to walk and function when they retire.

Wait...wasn't Woicik the strength coach here in the 1990's, and Troy Aikman, Charles Haley, Kevin Smith, and David LaFleur all had to retire due to back injuries?

I didn't take this thread seriously until I put my memory cap on and remembered that.....

Just a topic, theory to discuss... Settle down guys or I will call Idgit to really piss you all off

It should be something the team looks into for sure. The fact the hoodie let him go the way he did should have been a red flag.

Back, knee and shoulder problems for football players are historically among the most commonplace injuries to be had. No physical conditioning coach in the world can prevent them, as long as the nature of the sport causes them to occur. Let's not blame such things on those who can just do their best to prevent them. Conditioning coaches are merely practitioners, not miracle workers.

In a game that costs so much to play, and takes so much to win, accountability has to be strict!

With the so many spinal injuries it really begs the question. Could all this be avoided by a regiment of strengthening the posterior chain and core through regular exercise?

The injuries are huge:

Tony Romo - Herniated disc
Tyron Smith - Bulging disc
Dan Bailey - disc issue
Demarcus Lawrence - disc issue

Maybe Mike Woicik needs to be held accountable.

This team has a history of this. Does anyone remember the hamstring epidemic that was pretty much cured with the firing of Joe Juraszek?
Man..that's a harsh charge.

I just think it happens and but we do take chances on players with injury histories..

for example Smith this year and the mentally injured such as Gregory last year.

As for Tyrone Smith..bulging disks are common in football..

not the result of an over-zealous trainer.

And remember. .these guys workout a lot on their own and something can happen then, too.

So who knows..but finger pointing makes no sense.

That's a sign of a person not comfortable in their own skin.

We tried blaming the strength and conditioning guys in 2008. Then it was sun spots, then disco ...

Nothing to blame except bad luck.

Yes, I am quite certain that the multiple-time NFL world champion strength and conditioning coach doesn't know about having his players do deadlifts and they have weak cores.

Are you serious?
