Miles Austin bust or bang

I typed the below as you were typing yours. LOL.

You have a good chance of being right about Austin although I think he's going to be a pretty solid WR for us if he stays healthy.

I wouldn't be opposed to a real speed merchant out there at times. I'd rather wait to see how Austin does this year unless of course a speed guy is the BPA 5-7 and is a good WR as well as speed guy.

What's that guys name here last camp who was so fast? I thought they may try to keep the guy. He was A Wright fast.

I think we still need to add one more WR. Just to make sure that the other Cowboy WR's (2 thru 4 guys)won't feel comfortable.

The one thing I can credit Austin on is that (I felt) he played great in that Steelers game he got separation on the DB's then Romo over-threw him. Austin could have had atleast 2 TD's.

Come on people. Vote please. I'd like to see 2-300 at least. I'm really surprised at the votes at 1.

I'm with you on this. I'm excited about Austin but I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch. I voted #2 but he has the tools to do better.

I know he can get open, and I know he can run by people. I just don't know if he can catch or has any instincts with the ball in his hand. He's a straight line kinda guy.

From what I've heard he's a very hard worker and has improved more than any Cowboy in terms of their talent from the minute he walked in the door.

I hear ya, He just needs to stay healthy.

A breakout year would be 800 yds or better and 8 TD's...

I believe he'll have a breakout year, 1000 yards and 5 or 6 TDs.

That depends on if Jerry brings in another WR. I'm not saying he will though.

True, but guys need chances in the NFL. Jimmy Smith didn't get his chance here and look what happened in Jackonsville, HOF career numbers.

40-50 catches for 6-700 yds and 6-8 TDs. That would satisfy me and make him a solid #2. He showed real potential for those kind of stats before he got hurt. I expect Roy to get 80-100 for 1000-1200 yds and 8-12 TDs.
Witten to get around 100 catches for 1000 yds and 8 tds.
Crayton will be the 4th option and only get around 40 for around 500 and 4 tds. I am expecting Felix to get about the same catches, maybe a few less for about the same stats. Since I expect us to have a lot more plays this year then last year.

Miles has the ability to become very good, he just has to put it all together and hopefully he does this season.

Tony avg about 36 passes per game and generally 260+ yds per game and 3500 last year. BTW he's the only Cowboy QB to have a rating over 90 over two consequtive years. He threw 19 ints in 07 and 13 last year in 13 games of 1 to 1.2 INTs per game. His QB rating was 97 in 07 and 91 last year. He's also thrown for 62 TDs over 39 games which is the highest rate in Cowboy history.

To get to the point Romo throw 36 times a game roughly and that will be between Witten, Austin, Bennett, Crayton, the RBs and the other WRs. That's 5-9 receivers per game or roughly 7 a piece. Obviously Witten, Austin, RW and Crayton will get more thrown there way in general and less to the RBs and other receivers.

Witten avg 10-18 a catch. Williams I'd guess at 14+, Austin 18, Crayton 10+, Bennett 12-15, and question marks for the RBs although I expect Felix to get closer to 12-18 a game and the rest a bit less.

I'm hoping for at least 3500 yds to 5000 yds next year with 30 TDs or more and 14- INTs with a rating of 90 to 105. Cut the fumbles and mistakes, play good or better defense and STs and we're deinitely in the hunt for sure.

These are some terrible choices. Give Miles some time, he came from a small school and deserves a little bit of time before we judge him.

Austin showed real potential in a couple of games just before he was injured. So I see the boys standing pat at WR with maybe trying out some UDFA's or maybe a 6th or 7th rd guy.

I'd bang him, speed makes me horny. Clarification, to divert drug related slurs hurled upon me. Speed that is manufactured with legs moving in a manner to get from point A to point B in 3.38 seconds. Not speed that is manufactered and makes the legs move from point A to B in 3.38 seconds in a circle while multi tasking at nothing in particular and being able to finish a single task many times in a row with Mike Singleterry looking eyes.

He needs to stay healthy and prove he can do it against better corners...I like the kid's attitude and talent however, that is why I think he could put up 50/850 yds if he can stay off the injury report next season.

There is certainly not enough data out there to call Austin "crap". He's a solid but not elite kick returner, but that's not a real basis for analyzing him as a receiver. He looked great (not crappy) in camp last year, at worst, you could rate him incomplete, but not crappy.

Im excited about Miles Austin and I think he will shine when given an opportunity.

To big, to strong, to fast.

He does have confidence too because he has had a big game when he was given an opportunity and he has made a few plays here and there.

I think he was on his way last year until he got the injury bug.

There is just nothing the guys game lacks other than experience.

I think it's asinine that 90 people think Miles Austin will have a break out year and could be a #1 or #2 WR in this league what a joke.
