I think it's asinine that 90 people think Miles Austin will have a break out year and could be a #1 or #2 WR in this league what a joke.

Whats asinine is you saying he is crap.

I like Austin because he plays like a Giant sized Terry Glenn.

He has all the tools and there is a reason teams may be willing to give up a 2nd rounder.

Supposedly the Lions wanted him in the Roy Williams trade too and we could have gotten Roy Williams cheaper if we would have thrown Austin in.

They viewed him as a 2nd round talent.

I have been on this guys bandwagon since last season. The rumors of Parcells wanting him seem to have some truth. The fact that we tendered this guy a second round offer speaks volumes. I expect he will certainly compete for the number 2 receiver and I think he will get it going away. I actually think he is better than Crayton now, and I would not be against bringing in another slot oriented guy to compete with Crayton.

I'd bang him, speed makes me horny. Clarification, to divert drug related slurs hurled upon me. Speed that is manufactured with legs moving in a manner to get from point A to point B in 3.38 seconds. Not speed that is manufactered and makes the legs move from point A to B in 3.38 seconds in a circle while multi tasking at nothing in particular and being able to finish a single task many times in a row with Mike Singleterry looking eyes.

We have a poet. Of sorts.

The poll has been consistent from the beginning. The vast majority think of him as a solid WR or even better at a 3 to 2 pace. I truly wish I had not made the poll anonymous.

Why do you bristle?

If they view him as a 2nd round talent why haven't the signed him he has 2nd round tender right?

I think Austin is going to have a good year. He has the speed and the hands. He just needs the opportunity.

We have the right to match any tender. I'd bet a lot that teams contact agents of RFAs and explore the player's wishes and expectations. I don't see Austin going anywhere. He's in a pass happy environment with a franchise QB on board surrounded by a team who obviously not only values him but has expectations for him this year.

We have no idea what has been spoken to Austin and/or his agent. Surely you understand that most of this is handled with prior understandings for a player like Austin. Of course you may not see such sublety since your evaluation of Austin is so 'different' than most.

He looked really, really good last year. He looked natural enough to ease questions about the 'athlete VS football player' issue, and he still showed that unusual athleticism that ever brought up the 'athlete vs football player' question to begin with.

I like a set with RW, Crayton, Witten and Austin quite a lot. Maybe I would like RW, Witten, Tellus and Austin a bit more.

Thought I'd put this on top again so possibly more could see the results. I had hoped for 300 votes at least and we're almost there.

I am a little surprised and well pleased to see Austin thought of as a solid #2 or even a #1 by so many. I thought the vast majority would be the 2 option. Thanks for voting. It's nice to see semi-objective numbers.

He's come a long way from that Washington game to close the 07 season.

I think so, too. There are a lot of guys who could play in the NFL or NBA who never get a chance. I know someone whose younger brother played in the NFL. He'd played baseball mostly instead but did play a little college ball. He's a better athlete than his brother actually and I'm certain he could have played for someone and as a starter.

I'm glad we waited on Austin to develop. He may never get as good as we're hoping but he appears at least serviceable as a sub #2, a #4, and a field stretcher and possible home run guy now.

I'm going to bump this to the top only a few more times then let this die. Seems most of the board thinks fairly highly of Austin. I hope we're right.

If he stays healthy, he'll be a solid #2 option this year. I wouldn't be surprised, if he out shines Roy in pre-season.

Agreed. Health, health, health. That's the only thing holding him back at this point IMO. I think he's worked hard on catching the ball and route running and it shows.

Played in 12 games and had 13 catches for around 275-yards last season.

Played three years and had a total of 18 catches for a total of 354-yards.

Many want to make this out to be a player on the come.

The window is now Mr. Austin.

If he got 8 plays with the offense then he was lucky. Most of those games were because of ST not plays on offense. Hes put up a 100 yard game and has shown he can get behind corners.

Billy Davis put up almost 700-yards in 1998. He was similar to Austin in the respect he was an undrafted player. He didn't have the speed, but did have the hands.

He played six years and posted less than 1000-yards.

My position is simple. The window is now. If you are a big time receiver and the entire NFL missed it, then show the world what you have.

No excuses.
