They've been on the field together this season and last season, with Roy as one wide receiver and Austin as the other. And Austin has been listed on the depth chart behind Crayton, not Williams.

Exactly. In fact, it's Sam Hurd who backs up Roy Williams, which is why he was the #1 target in those back-to-back pass-play blunders at the end of the Bronco's game; Sam Hurd was in for the injured Roy Williams on those plays.

I agree with the OP.. I'm not the least bit surprised at Miles' big day especially considering the opponent. Him not STARTING would be a major setback for this franchise imo.

Oh, I know... Just repeating what Werder was claiming. Even Irvin didn't think what he was saying made much sense.

And to TN700, Mike was saying that the X was the split end (WR on the line) and the Y the flanker (off the line). Werder was claiming Miles only played the X and backed up Roy. Mike said that unless Jason has changed things from the way Norv did it, typically the Y, being off the line, is usually on the same side as the TE and is more of a deep route guy to help clear out room for the TE underneath. Mike was confused because he said Roy is a perfect X (more a possession guy like he was) and Miles should be a perfect Y (with his deep speed).

In the end I suspect none of this is any problem at all, and Mike is right and Werder is totally wrong.

I am not going to get to excited about this. Miles still misses passes he should catch. I am very happy he had such a good game, however he needs to be consistant. Now this doesn't mean 250 yards each week, but catching passes he should catch and running routes he should run. Didn't PC have like 130+ yards against Tampa? I am all for giving him his chance but he has to show it in practice and on the field consistantly.
