Miles Austin... physical freak?

I'm telling you guys, watch Austin in person at the games and you'll see that he has all the ability to be a very good NFL WR... He's by far the most physically talented WR on the team outside of Glenn and T.O. based on what I saw.

Oh, I certainly agree. I don't want anyone to think that I'm raggin on Austin. I think he's got a very bright future here and wish he'd had more opportunities last year.

There is no use arguing with a confirmed draft snob. The only thing that will convince one that an undrafted player could be any good is sustained excellence as a starter in meaningful games -- and, then, for more than one year.

Of course, there are no draft snobs on this board. ;) All we care about is a player's performance, no matter how they got to be on the team.

:D

That's where I got my information, and we're not looking the same numbers. None of those guys had a 4.14 short shuttle.

I didn't say they did.

Dont worry austin is just a figment of parcells imagination and could never play in the nfl. Throw in the fact that he wasnt drafted and there you have it. We all know parcells had no idea what he was doing and he is the sole reason for all that is evil in the world.

No need to worry about details.

romo wasnt drafted either

Umm sarcasm maybe?

I am a big fan of austins, and I have had to have 800 people scream at me on here for thinking he could ever contribute on our team, solely because he was undrafted.

So reread my post please and then you will see I was being sarcastic.

On ESPN's "On The Clock" segment for the Cowboys, Kiper said he had Miles rated as a 4th rounder last year.

Well I actually hate all undrafted free agents and think they should be forced to play in nfl europe.

I was ecstatic when we got him, because I was sure he was going late round 3 or early second day

Austin has already done more in one limited season than Randall Williams has done in his entire career. Unlike Randall you can see that Austin does have some football skills.

This is easy for you guys, but I'm never going to remember is it Miles Austin or Austin Miles. Just like my problem with Michael Irv... whatever.

Austin and Hurd (and Crayton to an extent) are the reasons I don't think we need to draft a WR. At least not this year. They should be given a year to show if they can get the job done. If they don't show SOMETHING next season then I'd be all for drafting a WR in '08.

I absolutely agree.Receiver should not even be considered this
year.At least not in the early rounds.

The only thing they will show is how to cover kickoffs...

Unless someone gets hurt, thats the only place they will be.
Austin though might be unfortunately fumbing more kickoffs.:bang2:

That's a good thought; I hope you are right.

If the Cowboys don't pick up a WR in the first 3 picks or so, that would be a sign that they feel good about the upside of Austin and/or Hurd.

Miles Austin has a ways to go if he want's to make it big in the NFL... physical stats and playing the game are two different things...

But what really impressed me was this picture I came across of a 43" vertical jump.

I remember when some on this board went crazy over Watkins vertical jump on the practice field during TC..... then the ripped every day after the season started LOL

I think Watkins and Miles are keepers... just dont know to what extent:starspin
