Various reports are saying he tweaked his hamstring in practice yesterday and reporting soreness this morning...

Should the staff just sit Miles out the rest of camp and have him ready for the opener against the Jets?

I feel they should sit him out and concentrate on the hamstring rehab.

There comes a point where sitting people for every little thing diminishes the team's readiness. He needs to get reps to be ready. They all need reps to get ready.

It's like not letting Dez return punts. Why have a great punt returner if you don't let him return punts because he might get hurt?

Suck it up and play ball.

To me having Miles ready for the opener FAR exceeds practice or a preseason game.

You don't suck up a hammy, playing makes the injury worse. Playing tough guy with that would be very stupid. You sit Miles while the injury is minor and let him completely heal for the opener. The staff knows what they have in Miles..

He won't be ready if he hasn't been practicing or playing.

Are you serious? Wow!!

If he sits the rest of preseason and just gets tossed in week one, no he won't be ready as we'll need him to be. He's going to be rusty.

Why won't he be ready??? It's the same offense as last year and I'm sure he'll have the playbook down.

I think we are talking about two different things. I'm referring to rust. Not his knowledge of the plays.

I'd rather have a little rust than a nagging hammy. Which one is easier to shake off?

I agree if it's that serious. I don't want him playing in preseason either if his hammy is continuing to give him trouble.

I find the lack of faith in Miles Austin disturbing in this thread.

Some of you shalll be visited by my apprentice, Darth Romo2Austin, shortly.

He will... take care... of you.

You don't just play on a sore hammy just to play on it. Being a tough guy with an injuried, or hurt, hamstring is just plain stupid.

They're doing the same with with Terence Newman's and Marcus Spears' groin injuries. They get worse if you run on them.

Sit, heal, and come ready to play football Week 1.

I just admire rational thinking...

I hope they give him some rest. He is the best number two WR in the league and we are going to need him. :)
