Just thought I'd give a quick update on Miles and where he ranks among the top WRs in the league.

Cliff Notes version: he's going to the Pro Bowl. Well, he'll be voted in at least... hopefully he'll have a much bigger game to prepare for the following Sunday.

He has 65 catches, 1138 yards, and 11 TDs. He is 2nd in the NFC in receiving yards, just 6 yards shy of Sidney Rice. But his 11 TDs trumps Rice's 5.

Oh, and those 11 receiving TDs are tied for the NFL lead. Larry Fitzgerald and Vernon Davis also have 11.

He's also tied for the NFL lead in receptions of 20+ yards, with 20. Tied with Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne. Yep, that Andre Johnson and that Reggie Wayne.

He's on pace to finish with 74 catches, 1301 yards, and 13 TDs. This stat is a bit misleading, however, since he didn't start any of the first 4 games.

So if you based it only on the Kansas City game (his first start) and the 9 games following that one, he'd be on pace for 96 catches, 1691 yards, and 16 TDs.

Yes, he's been that good.

Didn't I read... earlier this season, on this very message board... that Miles didn't have the quickness or route running ability to succeed as a starting NFL WR? :laugh2:

DeSean Jackson's a stud. But the best WR in the NFC East has a star on his helmet. :starspin

Oh now with the projected stats huh?lol Miles is very very good though. I'm still waiting to see how he performs against top corners though. That will show if he deserves to be mentioned with Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne. *waits for people to say I hate Miles*

That corner from Oakland (asamaghu sp?) isn't a top corner? You think Johnson and Wayne face top corners every week?

Miles has really blossomed this year. It is amazing that last year there were a number of fans calling to cut him and that Jerry Jones was nuts for stating that he had No. 1 receiver potential. We fans know a lot, huh....

Well someone saw something in him.

And I'm glad we stayed the course.

What makes him unique for a speedster is his size and strength. He isn't easy to bring down after he catches the ball.

Well, he did have one catch for 42 yards and a TD against Tampa. That sort of skews your projection, but not by much.

Nope. The 5 catches, 81 yards, and 1 TD he had in his first 4 games weren't included.

He had one or two catches against Nnamdi. It was good for the targets but even so, that's one game. I never said Johnson and Wayne face top corners every week. I swear Cowboy fans are crazy. I like Miles and give him props and it's never enough. We have to crown every damn player on the team.

i laugh when i read this type of stuff. u know why andre johnson and reggie wayne do what they do? because their teams keep them away from top cbs. theyre trying to get yards and tds. not try and prove something to fans like u. id like to know how many big games reggie wayne or andre johnson have had against players like asmoghua

***. Why does everybody keep bringin up Asmomugha like he's the only good corner in the league?lol. Reggie Wayne has been abusing players like Champ Bailey for the longest. The same guy who made Austin look silly. Like I said, calm down annointing him to top 3 level. jeez. Let him grow

And drink their sweat. You forgot that. ;)

I remember a few weeks back when CowTurd was busting on Austin after Austin had a few weeks in a row that for him were subpar. CowTurd was saying how he's not consistent, isn't really that good, and other teams now had film on him and that Austin would basically fade into mediocrity from then on.

Ha ha to that Hater.

Austin rules.

"Mike Jenkins will be the Cowboys best corner by years end."

I guess that's not "crowning". jeez, let him grow:cool:

Yes, he's been that good.
He has. And the thing that makes those numbers possible is that the Cowboys are going to need to win these next two games against division opponents to make the playoffs, period, and therefore, there won't be any taking it easy games or pushovers.

In fact, he may exceed those projections. Nice find by the Cowboys, and compare that investment to how we normally do it - overpaying free agents who don't work out for us - and this is crazy good football karma.

Uhh it was a prediction and it is obviously true. Miles being on Andre Johnson level isn't true yet in my opinion. He is close though. I want to see what he does against Philly. He can't be invisible again for the whole game until the end week 17 IMO. Philly is going to try to drop 44 on us again.

Another old guy acting like a child. There is an abundance of your kind on this board. What are you 35? 50? Grandfather yet? Get outta here.

I actually agreed with Jerry and laughed at people who thought he was a terrible route runner.
