Why root against Roy Williams? What sense does that make? I'm curious. Its not like he is Michael Vick type of person. Do you find it hard to root for a team when you think the qb is a 'piece of trash fraud". And you hate 1 of the starting WR's and think the other is becoming overrated.
As one of the people who wants RW gone, I'll explain my POV.
I think RW is garbage. I think he has a gigantic ego and doesn't really care about football or winning too much. He wants to be in the spotlight and adored and showered with gifts, privilege and money. When he came to the Cowboys, he had everything he wanted, IMO - back in his home state where he is adored, starting at WR for America's team, $45M in his pocket. He lost his desire - he had what he wanted now so that competitive fire in him just went out. He could now coast out the rest of his career.
Now that is JMO.
I don't root against RW during the game. I'd love it if he became a dominant force with 1200 yards receiving and 15 TDs. But he's never going to become that player - he doesn't want to earn it by practicing on fixing his deficiencies because that would be too much hard work for him. it is better for him just to coast by on his fading God-given natural ability for another year before the Cowboys toss him after Jerry finally figures out Roy is done (this won't happen for another year so you can relax - Jerry is a slow learner). This offseason we will hear a whole new set of excuses from Roy and about how hard he is allegedly working to turn his career around but it won't happen.
I really just wish he would quit football and give the prorated portion of his signing bonus back to Mr. Jones. He doesn't really have the fire to play football anymore and he shouldn't continue "stealing" Mr. Jones' money. That would be the honourable thing to do. I know that he really didn't mean to come here and fall flat on his face but he can't undo a lifetime of poor work ethic and the culture of those who have enabled him.
