Or trade down and still manage to take Hampton, earning us a 2nd round pick into the bargain.
Hampton looks like a stud too.

that is wrong. lol Poor Coogi, I think he is just misunderstood.Fixed it....and, I agree.
It wouldn't take that much.Would you trade Coogi for a bag expired chips?
Not really. If Ashton Jeanty is gone very early in the 1st round, there are several RBs who could do just as good. Omarion Hampton is bigger and could easily be a 3 down RB. There is also Treveyon Henderson. Bhayshul Tuten is the same size and tough running style as Jeanty. Difference is Tuten is faster and a bigger homerun threat. Also, don't forget about Jaydon Blue, DJ Giddens or Brashard Smith.Gotta trade up for Jeanty then…
Blah blah blah.Sounds like the Cowboys are very serious about getting back to a dominant running offense again. Pretty good article. It gets into the new OL coaches. A physical run game is never a bad thing.

The new running back in town tips the hand of the Cowboys offense and what the plan will be this year.
“The plan for the offense is to go through the run….You don’t get too many places where the offensive coordinator is an offensive line coach, and I know he’s playing a big part in the plan, I’m excited.”

A good RB can be taken in the 2nd or 3rd.Agreed, 100%. I realize this won't be a popular idea here, but Jeanty is pretty darn good!
Presenty, the Cowboys can't stop the Eagles running game. This may be the way to equal the field.
Gotta trade up for Jeanty then…
Which means we have to have backs who can threaten a defense enough, even with stacked boxes, to make them respect that run. We currently have two backs that averaged under 4 yards per carry last year and a third who has barely seen the field.Sounds like the Cowboys are very serious about getting back to a dominant running offense again. Pretty good article. It gets into the new OL coaches. A physical run game is never a bad thing.

As soon the D gives up 6 TD's in a row, we will be forced to abandon the run game.Yeah and soon as the run doesn't net 4+ yards every carry, we will pass all game long, Dak will throw the ball 40 times a game! Really he should be throwing it about 23-25 times!
Unfortunately for Miles Sanders, if we are as committed as he thinks we will be, then he will not be playing.Sounds like the Cowboys are very serious about getting back to a dominant running offense again. Pretty good article. It gets into the new OL coaches. A physical run game is never a bad thing.

Schottenheimer has been an assistant coach in the NFL for 25 seasons. Exactly when did “Schotty” develop “his offense”? I don’t believe he fits the mold of modern day NFL coach. Has there ever been an NFL head coach get his first chance at head coach after 25 years as an assistant? Fans have no idea what kind of head coach Brian Schottenheimer is going to be. Jerry doesn’t either. Jerry likes his head coach being beholden to him. Imagine how grateful Schotty is going to be to the owner that gave him his first head coach opportunity in over a quarter century of coaching, college and pros.If Brian Schottenheimer is allowed to run his offense without Jerry telling him “DaK nEed To ThRoW for 4500” then yes we will have a power run game and probably will have Dak throw 25 times while we run atleast 40
Pretty much spot on.Yeah and soon as the run doesn't net 4+ yards every carry, we will pass all game long, Dak will throw the ball 40 times a game! Really he should be throwing it about 23-25 times!
and if we get a WR at 12 best believe we are airing that ball out. coach Jerry says soJerral is paying for Dak's arm so you can bet he'll let Schotty know he expects his money's worth.
Allowed to run it, you mean the offense that Jerry is building for a passing league?.If Brian Schottenheimer is allowed to run his offense without Jerry telling him “DaK nEed To ThRoW for 4500” then yes we will have a power run game and probably will have Dak throw 25 times while we run atleast 40
Let's rethink this now, because if he can walk on water, imagine all the other ways he could help the Cowboys. So the Cowboys can't stop the super bowl champs and division rivals running game, and you think we should trade up for a RB?
I don't care if Jeanty can walk on water it's a bad idea.
