but here in America at the stadium of Americas team we drink American beer ....not trendy imports....LOL :D

Controlling interest in Miller Brewing Company was bought out 8 or so years ago by the South African Brewing Company. It's still brewed here but the profits go to South Africa. They came in and replaced a lot of key people, including my friend who had worked there for around 30 years. He's happy to be retired but said he didn't like the new management...he thought they were pretty heavy-handed.

I wonder if they're still considered an American beer? Probably so but I've always preferred Bud and Michelob anyway; I like that heavy lager taste.

Don't drink much since I moved to the country, anyway. Stocked my bar with 12 bottles of booze for Y2K (just in case) and 10 of them are still unopened. I guess I'm not a very good alkie.

Is there a discernible difference between Miller Lite, Coors Light, and Bud Light? Those were the only likely candidates and all 3 taste like water.

Bingo

Shiner is where it's at

Wow, could Jerry have picked a worse beer to pair with?

Than what? Coors light? Bud Light? Of all the *regular* American beers, Miller Lite is probably the best one of the bunch. (from the big beer companies anyway) Though I actually like regular Coors because it has more flavor than most of the others.

If I drink anything in the realm of those type beers, it's generally Miller Lite.

Usually, I prefer darker beers. Negra Modello, Sam Adams, (two of my personal favs) and even Shiner Bock even though you cannot get it here in NYC.

Amstel Light is pretty good too.

Pretty much anything Anheuser Bush I find horrible and usually have a headache soon after.

Less Filling.

But... I was just wondering - now that they have all those ultra dimond vision large screens that are now being use as bilboards.

Miller gets one installed and runs commercials during the time outs in the game.

Nothing like drinking subpar beer for the sake of drinking subpar beer.

:lmao2:

A belgian pub opened up around our way and I thought I had seen/heard of most of these premium Belgian beers...Turns out there's a whole other world of these beers I had never even heard of...Several, in fact, that put beers like Chimay even to shame...Pretty impressive stuff

If the goal is to have a rowdy crowd, Jerry should sell Jolt Cola. For the beer drinkers can a special high caffeine Miller Lite be made?

Pepsi >>>>>>>> Coke

I can handle coke out of a fast food style dispenser, but coke in a can is the foulest soda on the planet. Waaaaaaaaaay too much syrup.

Coors makes what used to be a micro-brew called Bluemoon, which is a Belgian style wheat beer. It's very good. It was originally brewed at the stadium where the Rockies played as the local stadium beer and had another name (I cannot remember it). People liked it so much, they began producing it in there other breweries (Golden, Co, Virginia) at larger quantity. It's now really popular and great if you can find it on tap. Coors keeps a low profile on the fact that they brew it, so it can keep some of it's micro-brew appeal.

The other beer that I really like is Michalob (sp) Ultra Amber. It's the first light beer that I have ever tasted that tastes nothing like a light beer. If someone poured it in a glass and served it, the color and taste would make most people think it was a dark beer, not an ultra light.

I don't drink either. I agree that Coca Cola is better than Pepsi. The only time I drink Pepsi is when I am at a restaurant that sells only Pepsi products.
