Milton reasons why the trade to the Cowboys was a blessing

That and the NE coaches didn’t want Drake Maye looking over his shoulder.

All reports last training camp was Milton was better.

He made some freakish plays in his 1 regular season game he got.

The GM did not want to get rid of him but the coaching staff basically insisted.
He sat down with the owner. And thought it was not a good situation for him and out of respect the owner released him. That’s why his players love him.

Milton was most likely destined to be a career backup in NE. Assuming he holds his presumptive #2 position in Dallas, he has a great shot of seeing significant playing time if, as odds suggest, Dak misses multiple games this season.

And, let's face it, who wants to play for a rebuilding team - pinning their future on a different young QB - in frigid Foxboro, Mass. (+ twice in BUF) all winter?

The move to Dallas was an absolute no-brainer for Milton.
Milton had no opportunity to play in New England because Maye a first round pick and is younger than Joe is. No matter how well he played in practice it was not going to matter.

With Dallas he has an offensive minded head coach, a veteran quarterback that will take all the smoke from the stupid fan base and national media, two top tier receivers, and a top 10 offensive line. Milton has been given a great opportunity.

America’s team, learning from Prescott,. Nothing but positive.
You're ignoring the fact that he mentioned warm weather and playing in a dome. Were this team to make the playoffs, in all likelihood, we'd be on the road at Washington and/or Philly in January. Ain't no domes in those wintry places. It's problematic because it's not the "I'll do whatever it takes" spiel you like to hear out of a football player. As someone else mentioned, perhaps these were just cover answers for "I know Dak will get hurt again and thus I'll have the popular Dallas Cowboys spotlight to show the whole country what I can do" that can't be said out loud. Still, not the best cover answers though so he's gotta work on that.

Most likely meant the warmer weather in general.
Playing a cold weather game, really has nothing to do with his his answer.
But being in a warmer climate, you can get out and do more thins year round. Not be stuck inside because it is below freezing for weeks on end.

But we all know this. But some need to have fun with the comment. And nothing wrong with that.

Here's a thought, doesn't really have much to do with a particular topic, but it has occurred to me, do any actual players from the team or coaches drift around here on this platform just to monitor the fans temp in the room , so to speak? Wonder if teams hire people just for that also. I've often wondered if sometimes when we engage one another on here, what if I'm talking to someone affiliated with the team on some level? Just a random question I guess. I feel players are human too and probably do care more than they let on, what fans think and talk about.

You’re probably thinking of Lance, or maybe Dak early in his career.
If you actually watch the film from his game against Buffalo, it’s clear he’s not a one-read quarterback and he’s definitely not inaccurate.

So I’m not sure where you’re getting that information.
No joke? Do you read/listen to scouting reports at all? It's all over the place.

Hey, maybe he's gotten better, we don't know for sure, but coming into the NFL that is exactly what he was.

1 game against backups. It's generally not a good idea to put a lot of emphasis on what was ostensibly a preseason game.
They were not all backups. And the game was game planned. So obviously he did what he was supposed to do.
That still says and shows a lot.

Now Greir, his great PS game was gamed planned against a team, not game planning, and were against 3rd and 4th string future normal 40 hours a weekl workforce type players.

I will wait and see the competition between them in PS games. Because we know Dak will not play. I don't even know why he even suits up.

Oh boy......here we go (LOL)
I appreciate player honesty and being themselves. I personally don't have a problem with this but understand how/why many fans will process it differently but I'm pretty sure, like most players, Milton doesn't care.

I get he is not Tom Brady, however he sounds like he is providing reasons for buying a vacation home.

Contrast that with what Brady said were the reasons he went to the Bucs.

"I’m trying to do things that have never been done in my sport. That’s actually fun for me, too, because I know I can do them. When a team gives you the opportunity to do those things with them, well … if not with them, then who? At some point, you have to throw your whole body into what you’re doing. You have to say, Let’s ride. Let’s see what we got.

"I want to show everybody what I got."

His NFL draft profile….not good.

Anytime you see the word ‘disturbing…

Can’t throw

Weaknesses

  • Disturbing lack of placement and timing as a deep-ball passer.
  • Completed just 38.6 percent of his throws beyond 10 yards (per Pro Football Focus) in 2023.
  • Struggles with anticipatory throws, running receivers into collisions.
  • Telegraphs throws between the hashes, giving safeties an easy jump on the ball.
  • Desires to throw the ball through receivers rather than deliver with touch.
  • Inconsistent tying his feet to eyes and squaring to his targets.
  • Frequently forces moving targets to break stride to try to make the catch.
