Mina has Dak 8

He probably did talk himself out of it because he's very aware of the lack of quarterbacks in the nfl I mean top 10 quarterbacks don't curl on trees prescott's not the sole reason we've been failing in the playoffs just like Romo wasn't that is also on Jerry for not building the trenches better especially on defense you have to run the football you have to stop the run you have to play defense almost none of that shows up in the playoffs and then the quarterback gets blamed but let me give you some facts..

Now this is not an opinion prescott good enough to start for most of the teams in the NFL outside the top ten there'd be some conversations at least five teams but could have been at least eight teams this off season that would have bid for his services if he didn't get signed he would have been a free agent. like that's it a free agent he there was number leverage that Jerry had he would have lost Prescott prescott would have been a Pittsburgh Steeler or somebody else would have grabbed him up and also paid him the same money and let him put that in their contract jerrys not stupid and fans might be delusional if they don't think he'd have been playing somewhere else.

Which by the way,

I would have been ok with that but this is when Jerry decided he was keeping Prescott when he signed lamb I believe he was on the fence on both of them I think Jerry was seriously thinking about blowing this thing up.

Truly believe the reason they didn't get signed until right before the season is because he was thinking of letting both play out their contracts seeking trays got rid of Diggs literally would have also traded Parsons and do we would have just started this whole thing all over and I would have been OK with that because that would be the best thing to do you to keep them all or you start over...

.. But once you sign lamb I knew everyone else was getting signed it would have been ridiculous you can't sign your best receiver and then let your quarterback walk and he would have walked he would not have been playing around he tired of this they did this to him and made him play on a franchise tag the first time around and they messed around and they didn't come to him early they didn't give enough respect to offer him a 6 year contract at a very good rate they made him play on a franchise tag he had his ankle snapped off and he made a conscious decision right there that his contract was going to have no trade clause in it and no franchise tag clauses in it because he didn't like the way Jerry does business so he stuck it to Jerry,

Prescott had every right to do so prescott was not worried at all playing for another team this season I think he came to terms with that because of the way Jerry does business you can't keep allowing your stars going this late into the offseasons and not signing them or at least trying to sign in the year before and then have the nerve to franchise tag your quarterback which almost never happens in the nfl and then wait till he snaps his ankle off and then pays him and yes Prescott rewarded him with a 37 touchdown and 10 interception season in 2021..

But fans can't have it both ways they can't say yeah we should move on from Prescott and then keep everyone else nope if you truly need all your draft picks and rebuild it starts with finding another quarterback you need draft capital and there's no reason to be paying all these high contracts why you're rebuilding a team..

I said this last year right around this same time while Lamb was holding out and while Prescott was dangling out there on his last year... I said it's all or nothing and as a fan I would have been ok with either direction and here we are so I'm ok with all of this...

And that's why going back to what you said I believe it came down to the last second to get these guys signed because they were teetering on not signing them but that's the thing because of all that Hesitation they forgot to have an offseason he was so torn between get getting Prescott a new contract and deciding on lamb that he allowed the whole entire offseason to go by and really didn't do anything everyone says it's by design no I don't think he was by design I really believe he was really close to blowing this whole thing up and then got scared and then got everyone signed and here we are.... I believe our terrible off season wasn't to tank Mike McCarthy I believe he was so distracted by what to do that he just forgot he just basically couldn't focus on anything else..

But now as fans what exactly can you do prescott's here lands here parsons is about to get signed osa New Deal. We basically have probably a two year window and there's nothing that the haters can do if you don't like it that Prescott's here is too bad the reality is he is here...

They had a better offseason it still isn't great but it was a lot better they gave Prescott another weapon they tried to improve his offensive line so here we are let's see how it works out..
You make a lot of good points and I don't disagree with much except that you overrate Dak Prescott and his impact on the team.

The team had a higher % winning record in completed games with a washed Andy Dalton in the same season over Dak Prescott and it wasn't too dissimilar with a practice squad quarterback in Cooper Rush. Of course neither of those two were/are the answer - they earned peanuts and their play mostly reflected the same and there were other factors in play but generally that's quite alarming to me.

How many games has Dak Prescott helped the Cowboys come back from when the team is losing by 10+ points...

So I think ok maybe Prescott is worth being paid as the highest player per year in NFL history for his playoff performances...obviously not given his performances in the last three losses and his overall playoff record!

He will put up good stats next season as he has a high quality receiving duo and I see the O line being just fine. Another Cousins type season. But it won't matter when it actually comes to the team being a genuine contender with him at quarterback.

Yet ironically he should be called Mr Irrelevant not Brock Purdy.

No they really don’t. They mention him in passing but no one’s putting Marino anywhere near the top 10.
Give Marino the defense of any Superbowl winning team in the 80's and Marino wins the Superbowl every single year. Marino was magnificent. He had no defense and no running game. That's not on him. Which is why rankings are stupid. You cannot intelligently compare QB's who play on different teams in different systems with different talent levels around them.

Winning matters? Lol. Youre a joke, if ot mattered you wouldn't be here...you're just a hater and like to stir the pot.
You’re player over team though.

What you think really doesn’t hold much weight when you’d rather see the player get paid an extra million than the team win rings.

What is the opposite of winning?

Answer that and you have Dan Marino.

Pretty stats don’t equal winner.
Did Dan Marino play by himself? No because it's a team sport. This ain't track and field or tennis.

It's silly to gauge a QB on whether he's a winner or not by SBs.

Dan Marino is light years better than Dilfer ever was. Not even close. But Dilfer was carried by a better team, while Marino tried to carry his without a running game or a good defense.

So he loss. But nobody (but you apparently) would ever utter the words loser and Dan Marino in the same sentence.

Actual it’s really easy to judge a “winner” or “loser” by winning or losing.

All the Mina Kimes debate aside... Is #8 in the league supposed to be brag-worthy or not? Very bottom of the top 25% of the league?

Is that really worthy of a victory lap?
This has long been my argument on Dak. Its not that Dak is uncapable of winning, its not that hes a bad QB....I simply think you either have a top 5 guy at the position or you dont, and investing in a non elite player is a dangerous game given the salaries QB command. A top 10ish QB is great, until the playoffs get here....then you typically have one of the lesser QBs left. Unless I had a Mahomes, Allen, Burrow type I would rather invest heavily in the rest of my team before I pay top money to my QB.

Tbf, Marino is forgotten by younger generations. He may be one of the best QB’s ever in terms of stats, but future generations won’t remember guys like that. If Dak never wins anything, he’ll fall into that category….paper tiger.
This is fair. Agreed. But I used those 2 QBs to prove a point. Dilfer had an all-time defense led by Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, a strong running game, etc., and they won the SB. Marino had the Mark Brothers and nothing else and loss the SB.

Yet it boggles my mind that someone would dare say Marino was a loser. But that's just me.

It’s sort of like Dan Fouts when I was growing up in the 90’s. He was one of the greats but I didn’t really know anything about him because he never won anything. Marino is this generations Dan Fouts.

Ranking QBs is kind of obvious, trite and meaningless, no?

Anyone reading this knows what Dak is and isn’t by now. He is good, not great.

They need to put a great team around him and Jerry and son would rather carry over cap space than do that. There’s your answer and you all know it no matter what your take.

What’s to love?

Jerry? Dak? Schottenheimer?

Your blind loyalty doesn’t impress me.
A fan is supposed to cheer the team on regardless of any individual. You obviously do not. It's perfectly fine to choose to not be a fan. It is quite clear you hate every thing about the organization. I have no problem cheering on the team without being the biggest fan of Dak, Jerry, or Brad Sham for that matter. I don't care who the QB is or who is coaching.

You on the other hand, go out of your way to spend an inordinate amount of time hating on this message board. I find it sad to put that much effort in to hating.

I know how players get used up and spit out, personally...I lived it. I do have the players back. You wouldn't understand, you're just a spoiled ignorant fan, like your cult.
Anyone with aspirations to make a living playing ball knows the deal going in. Or at least they should. Part of that "getting used up and spit out" is the opportunity to earn a degree at no financial cost. Another part of that "getting used up and spit out" is being paid very well for their time, even at the bottom of the scale.

Playing even a season in the NFL brings rewards most of us would never see at that age.

Sure, the NFL takes no prisoners. Just like pretty much every single career one could imagine. We all get used up and spit out in some manner. If the "used up and spit out" player can't take the windfall they earned with their athletic abilities, after what they should have known would be a short career, and transition into another form of productivity and contentment for what will likely be the majority of their life, well that's on them.

This notion that any human is entitled to make generational wealth in the space of 1-10 years is ridiculous. If you can, GREAT. If not, welcome to reality.

For the record, because I know how you guys like to grasp at straws in the absence of logic and reason, I have no problem with players getting all they can while they can.

If the organization I’m a fan of doesn’t take it seriously and doesn’t care about its fans why shouldn’t I hate until it’s fixed?

Fans like you enable and are the reasons it’s been almost 30 years of nothing.

Cheer no matter what gets you what you get.

So ONE person is enough to try to paint the rest of us with a broad brush?

There's not many women here to impress with that kind of fake chivalry so let's just keep it a buck instead
I never said it was person lol…. And there’s plenty of women here…..plenty…….
