Has anybody used the satellitetvonpc.com software? Is it worth the $49.99 price they are asking for? I am curious if I should spend the price on it to be able to not only watch the game tomorrow night but also it hints to being able to catch games that wouldn't normally be available except thru sunday ticket.

Dayton...I am not that familiar with the satellitetvonpc software, but from looking at their site it appears similar to streamtvnow. Because it is streaming to your computer...it will not be the best picture. And it appears that what they are doing is streaming channels from free to air satellites.

I really don't know much about the whole thing, but basically the free to air satellite works just like directtv. You have a dish and then a receiver. It costs nothing because you are just getting the signals from network affiliates. Because of that, you can get a good bit of the games...just have to search for them.

It is my understanding that the receivers can be "modified" to pick up directtv and dishnetwork signals...which then crosses over to illegality.

BTW, the price for that software you mention says $39.95 now.

Did you see the tvunetwork stuff from the last game? Was treamtv better than that was? It wasn't so great when I expanded the screen size and attempted to make it full screen. I'm hoping that it would be better for this if its something I'm going to pay for.

freestreamtv picture was better...but it still leaves a lot to be desired. Probably be a while before they get it to even standard cable quality. It was good enough to watch as a last resort...but any standard picture will beat it.

Just depends on how much you want to watch the game. Basically your only options are it or getting a free to air satellite dish installed. And from what I have seen trying to do research it is somewhat complicated.

freestreamtv requires Mozilla firefox and Winamp...the latest free versions. There is a group of codecs you have to download too. Cost is less than $4 for a month and you can get it for one month or three, with recurring and non-recurring options.

Right now...it seems to be the only option I have found for possibly getting the game.

Wish I could tell you more...but I don't know anything else.

Others have said they had troubles joining, so I don't know what the deal is.

I posted about tvuplayer on another board. Here's some of the hostile responses I received:

Its not very helpful posting a link to a website which is likely to be
shut down as a result of your actions. SteamTVnow themeselves
specifically ask for their website NOT to be posted on public forums. The fact
it has been deleted suggests the Mods disagree with your stance that it
was a 'helpful' thread.

You are an IDIOT!!!

REMOVE THIS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and use your brain!

I would just like to say thank-you to you for being a class a eejit and
arsing the streaming thing up for everyone by posting it for the world to see and not taking it down. I am now certain it will be shut down due to your idiotic action. Great work moron.

So how come no one gets angry on this board?

bbgun,

That's ridiculous bro. the tvunetwork uses a peer to peer like streaming method.

IT's a new technology that they are utilizing that probably shares the bandwidth cost of the broadcasters among the recipients, kinda like a torrent ina way I would guess

Not sure.

TVU Player is on download.com for crying out loud. If they think more people are going to access it because I mentioned it on the zone, well, I don't know what to say.

freestreamtv doesn't have anything on their web page that I saw saying not to mention their site...if they do, you certainlywould have to look for it...it's not obvious.

Seems like freestreamtv is not accepting new subscribers, not sure what the deal is with that.

It may seem like a silly question. But are you in the Dallas are? I wonder if that would be an option for me living way outside of TX.
