Minni has one big offensive weapon, focus on him...

I read all this fear! The Cowboys should be P O'd not scared. They hung in there till the 4th quarter against NE and should be upset they didn't do better through the full 4 quarters. I am already feeling this slip back into the mentality of the last 10 years, where we are slipping back behind the hump whereas it looked like the team had finally gotten over it.

Phillips looks a little down in the mouth. I want him to up the energy and yelling a bit this week. I know it's not his personality but this team needs to be pumped up a bit after 2 poorer showings.

Minni has the rookie RB as it's main weapon. Big deal. He's a good player. Well so are Witten, TO, and Barber (and Julius Jones). Not to mention Romo. Granted Minni's D, especially against the run is stout, but our team should be motivated and should play to win. Focus defending Petterson and kick some arse.

Here are some ideas. Our two minute drill has been awesome so far this year. Why don't we go no-huddle as some have suggested in forums this week. Script a dozen plays and mix it up with some no-huddle early. Be aggresive, don't play conservative style. This doesn't mean force Romo to drill passes into coverage, this just means keep the tempo going.

Start Barber early. Barber has shown quite a bit of excitement of his own, but NO NO we can't risk him wearing down. Sheesh, Minni rides their 6 game back and we are still trying to figure out if Barber is good enough to start the rotation we use. What a joke. What does the guy have to do to prove he can provide an early spark. This isn't anything against Jones either, it's about putting players in the best position to do well and contribute. Lets throw to our backs in this game, A LOT. If Minni clogs the middle and stops the run well, make lots of short passes to Jones and Barber, so they get past that first Dline and into the LB area, then they can run from there.

How about some trick plays! Have we had a reverse or flee flicker or even a screen in 4 games? Lets keep Minni on its toes.

I'm pumped for this game. We need to win big going into the bye as the schedule gets real important soon with 5 NFCE games down the stretch with all the East teams looking very competitive.

Go after this game. Don't let them dictate it to us like in the Parcells era, keep doing what worked this year early (yes, it was against less than stellar opposition, it doesn't matter). Get creative early and keep going.

We match up well against Minni, this game should be a win if the players excecute. Discipline and smart coaching will help. Pump the Boys up. We sound a bit rattled still. Sheesh

I have a feeling the team *is* going to be fired up to prove that they're a good team after last week... You can't assume the team is down just because this forum has been. ;)

Witten, To, Barber, Jones, and Romo, not one of those guys could hold Peterson's jock strap. Although, with those guys combined, they are pretty good.

Of course the cowboys are going to focus on defending Peterson, just like the bears. Runningbacks had a 3.6 yard average running against the bears the first 5 games this season. Runningbacks averaged 3.5 against the cowboys the first 5 games of the season. So don't think that it's going to be that easy defending Peterson.

The bears did 8 in the box basically every play in the game until T-Jack threw the touchdown pass to Williamson. Then they realize that realistically you can't just stack 8 in the box all game. You have to defend the pass somehow.

The only people clogging the middle for the vikings defense is the "Williams", its not like the vikings send their linebackers up to the line in the middle.

Any team can say that. Heck, the dolphins can say "If we execute, we should win this game". Of course that's true. If a team plays the perfect game they planned, they are going to win. So if the vikings execute, they should win as well.

I watch the Queens just about every week because #1 i hate them as much as Washington and Philly and #2 they are on here every week. I love nothing more than watching them lose. Having said that, they couldn't scare me less. We win this game by 10 so easy, and maybe by as much as 24.

Not assuming team is down based on forums. Listened to every Press Conference. People are mad at Crayton for mouthing off. WHY? Somebody on this team needs to start kicking arse and being confident. Not cocky, confident. Stand up and say we blew it in the 4th quarter, we weren't disciplined, but we'll correct that and compete with any and every team in this league.

I still feel there is a certain leadership lacking. TO looking concerned on the sideline isn't what I'm talking about. It's Michael Irvin yelling and screaming. It's Emmitt saying give me the ball.

Heck I wouldn't mind a player or 2, (not TO) getting upset and saying Hell Yes, get me the ball, I'll do something with it, instead of all this political correct stuff.

Even Mickey is defending TO against the baiting by the media. I'd like to see the coach come out and say, "hell, I've never had this much balanced talent, BUT these guys need to play hungrier on the field"

I'm just griping because I think this team has not been closer, since 1996, to taking that next step again! Maybe they'll prove me wrong Sunday and come out hugely fired up AND focussed. I'm looking forward to it.

Home Game. Man I hope the fans pump the team up a bit. Sorry but watching this team on TV from Vancouver Canada, I have to say, we'd be louder in our football stadium rooting for Dallas than the fans down there are. I'd like to see Phillips give the fans crap too. Home field advantage? Why. Sheesh. This team hasn't looked this promising forever, where's the yelling and crazyness. Where's the anger.

Anyone see the movie Slap Shot? It's like when they beat the hell outta the team bus to "make it look MEAN". Team needs to start putting fear in other squads, not by points, not by the fact that we are seen as "physical" and other teams players get hurt, I want other teams to be affected by our teams hunger and discipline and focus. Get hungry, get confident, get nasty (but within the rules, we can't afford the penalties, hehe).

I'll personally send a crate of Red Bull to the team before this game if that helps. Not feeling the fire up here. Might be because it's rainy season in Vancouver again, but Phillips needs to start energizing himself and this squad.

Man please. The Cowboys will keep an eye on AD. I have watched AD since he started at OU. He can be stopped. Ive seen it many times. The Dallas run D is no joke. They can contain Peterson. Hey may get 100 or so by the end of the game.

Thing is -

Minny is going to get CRUSHED because of the Dallas passing offense.

End of story. Take this rant back to your Viking boards now.

Toodles.

The Vikings would trade AP for Romo STRAIGHT UP. I GUARANTEE IT. If they wouldn't they'd be complete morons.

Are you kidding me? I can name at least 6 QB's i'd rather have than Romo. Maybe even 10. I can only name one runningback that i rather have than AD and that's LT and even with that, i would hesitate.

I don't know though, those 10 turnovers are looking pretty solid for Romo.

The 15 TD passes help off set that. 1 bad game from Romo and yet he still managed to do enough to help his team to victory. 10 other QB's in the NFL better than Romo you got to be kidding.

Any NFL GM (Or any intelligent person for that matter) would rather have a Top QB then a Top RB. Period.

So last year, if you were the saints, you wouldn't have traded Drew Brees for LT?

Brees had a better rating than Romo.

Why would you trade a good starting QB for a running back, even a good one?

A good QB has tons more stuff to do with an offense than a back that just runs the ball!

The QB has much more responsibility...you should know that! Come on!

Reading comprehension is your friend. I said Brees.

Not even Brees.

Can LT throw passes? Can LT read a defense like a good QB has to do? Can LT manage the game in critical situations? Has LT ever played QB?

So, you trade Brees for LT...now what do they do at QB?

Just look at the Chargers' record the first few years LT was there. That should answer this question.

Hell yeah, LT can throw passes, look at his stats. But i know what you mean no he wouldn't be a good QB.

Now look at Brees this season....So you would be stuck with Brees just as LT is getting fired up...

Well, i'm gone for the rest of the night. You guys can do a circle jerk with Romo in this thread and i will respond tomorrow.
