The Vikings are rough, rugged and SUPERBLY coached. The Vikings players love Zimmer. He lost Teddy B., All Day and they just keep getting better. I can't believe Bradford is playing like this. Never thought it was possible.

I won't lie: I have always loved Zim and wanted him to coach Dallas but JJ's love affair with Red is what it is.

BTW: how ABOUT the ageless T. Newman? Remember when we drafted him and a TON of tools in here said they were concerned because he was 24? LOL...dude is 38 now and still rolling. He had multiple pass breakups against loud mouthed ODB tonight. Ran step for step with him. He should still be here. Guy can play when used properly. That's Zimmer.

I think we can have a shot at beating Minny though. It will be a very tough game. But I think we can have a chance.

It always blows my mind when I see Terrance is still in the league. How a DB can still be effective at 38 is beyond me. Maybe the early injury riddled years didn't leave much of a toll on his body. Nor the avoidance of tackling

I too wish we were coached by Zimmer. I really didn't like is defense before. But I followed him as a coach throughout his career. He really is a pretty good coach and has the feel for the game.

The disrespect I saw for T-New (Not here, but on another forum) about how he was never that good. Blew my mind, I understood why we got rid of him and how he was no longer a #1, but never that good? T-New was a great CB in his prime and it seems he is having a heck of a twilight.

D Ware is past his prime but still productive. He is another one we shouldn't have let go and would have been great if he finished his career here.

I'll eat crow on TNew - I really thought he was washed up in 2011 but boy was I wrong. Good for him

Oh I did too. However, what we didn't realize was that he simply had to get healthy and be coached up. Even vets need coaching. But we are FANS..our front office blew it again. He should still be here. Guy can absolutely play.

It also shows you how much easier it is to play pass defense when you can get good pressure with your front 4.

Also, they were able to bring pressure, counting on the fact it was going to get there. Unlike Dallas who blitzes 7 vs San Fran and got stoned at the LOS.

Yep: JJ tried to get cute and save money. Backfired big time. At least he got his ring though. Happy for him.

NO argument there. Facts are indeed facts. You guys think Lawrence can make an immediate impact this week? I'm skeptical..never been high on him. Rod is excited so that's good.He has to show me at this point. (nope, not from Missouri)

He was out of his comfort zone coaching the Tuna's 3-4 defense. He's a 4-3 guy and the son of a coach. He took on a scheme not of his own with a group composed of primariliy no-names and rejects and turned them into a solid defensive unit.

Yea, but he has also been injured every year in Denver. With the way Dallas' salary cap situation was, they had no choice to part ways with him. Denver can afford to be without him, because they have Von Miller and depth with Shane Ray etc.

Zim would have this team playing like crazy. He takes his Rookies and sits them until he is sure they know what they are doing and playing the Vikings standards. Their CB Trey W., would be starting on most teams and so would their 1st round pick Treadwell. Yet Zimmer makes them earn it and is a no BS kind of coach.

Marrinelli doesn't exactly have that luxury given the lack of talent on the defensive side of the ball.

Both Zimmer and Newman are doing better now than when there were here. If they were performing at the same level then Jerry would have kept them.

Getting rid of Ware was the right move. Not having his replacement wasn't. But Ware needed to go at that salary he was out. HE will always be one of my favorite Cowboys but this team needed to get from under the Newman's and Ware's. They are playing well in their new destinations but there was no guarantee that would occur here. A change of scenery is sometimes good for guys.

That's a great point as well. Mind you when Zimmer was here his unit wasn't performing well. Let's not try and rewrite history. Newman was getting hurdled over by fullbacks and tight ends. It was time to go. I'm happy for Newman though. I thought fans gave him a far harder time here than he deserved. I didn't even know he was still in the league especially with those lingering injuries. And he seems to be playing at a solid level.

You've been a member here since 2016.

Newman was drafted in 2003.

WTH are you talking about?
