I learned the Giants are overrated this year after their 2-0 start.

Yes, they have a lot of injuries but Eli was awful and their 200 million dollar defense is slightly better than ours.

BTW - Eli is 30-38 since his last Super Bowl and their message boards are killing him while lamenting Wentz, Dak and the future of the NFC East. As one of their posters put it -

Eli was connecting all night with his number one target tonight - the ground.

It was nice to see the giants lose but I'd be lying if I didn't expect Dallas to take an L also.

D Ware is past his prime but still productive. He is another one we shouldn't have let go and would have been great if he finished his career here.

Right, but there always others that you think will recover and get back to form, but never do.

Hindsight is 20/20.

The past few years I have been watching and I feel that Eli has not been passing the ball very well. I saw or heard somewhere that he has led the league in INT for the past few years -

Last night I saw him bailing and throwing it away whenever any pressure at all came. He was missing screen passes and short throws and some of his longer throws looked very wobbly.

Not sure what is going on with him, he's got some real weapons at wr but he is not getting the ball to them consistently.

Maybe he should go over to Payton's house for nachos on sunday :D

Great D smokes anything.

I would love to put that theory to test. Give me a healthy Tony Romo, playing as well as he did in 2014 and I think we'd fare well offensively against Minnesota or Denver. Although we're so pedestrian on defense that we'd give up a ton of points and would have to score 24+ or so to win.

At the end of the day, good defense will always be about making QBs feel uncomfortable and the Giants simply can not do it. They are last in the league in QB sacks, because their DEs are average at best and their DTs are only run stuffers and offer nothing as pass rushers. You can counter that by moving a guy like JPP inside on passing downs, but one, I just don't think he'll ever be that effective again, due to the accident and two, they have nothing else to put DE to keep QBs from leaving the pocket incase he gets inside pressure.

The disrespect I saw for T-New (Not here, but on another forum) about how he was never that good. Blew my mind, I understood why we got rid of him and how he was no longer a #1, but never that good? T-New was a great CB in his prime and it seems he is having a heck of a twilight.

It was every bit as bad here.

The pounding that Garrett gets now? The exact same thing was going on with both Zimmer and Newman back then. And, no, neither player/coach magically got better when they went someplace else. Newman had a known groin injury and was playing too many snaps. Zimmer was always a good coach and there was never any basis for wanting to get rid of him. It was near universal, and those of us who disagreed with it were blind hopeless homers then, too. Some things don't change.

It always blows my mind when I see Terrance is still in the league. How a DB can still be effective at 38 is beyond me. Maybe the early injury riddled years didn't leave much of a toll on his body. Nor the avoidance of tackling

Commanders Daryl Green was also one.

Yea, we have a pretty stupid fan base. Demarcus Where comes to mind as well. I get why we had to cut Newman, but he's been a solid player in Minnesota and Cincy for nearly the entire time as a depth player. Zimmer imo was a good coach, but wasn't the right guy for a 3-4 defense, so I understand that as well, but peoples expectations are way to imo.

In the Giants case I think it's a combination of bad drafting and losing their O line and D line players.
Then they hit the overpay button this past off season. Which they had not done in the past.

They are stocked at WR but not enough balls to go around based on their offensive philosophy.

A lot of Giant mistakes come from receivers not completing routes.
I think I've see three picks because of that.

I just want to know how the Cowboys can copy the Vikings formula on defense. They don't have elite edge rushers but they're still great at getting to the QB. Their DEs are still much better than what we have but it's not like they've got Von Miller and Ware...yet they still make it work.
