I have looked around, but, does anyone know the status of Roy Williams (safety)?

Has he even had any nibbles from other teams? Or, has he signed already with someone?

He'll be lucky if he gets the vet min somewhere.

He may get black ball'd.

Why do you think that?

I know it seems like he lost his desire, but, he's still a football player if he wants to be one.

I heard he had a workout that went pretty well with the Bengals, but I don't think they signed him yet.

I thought that Cinn was sort of interested in him.

He may be re-united with Zimmer, and for RW, that may not be that bad a thing.

I really do wonder how much RW really wants to play the game. I'm sure his ego was bruised being cut by the Cowboys, but that said, I don't know if the passion is still there for him to try to be what he was in his early years in the league.

I wish him the best, though.

But he already decided........thats why he is no longer a Cowboy.

Maybe hs's not a Cowboy anymore because he was not a good fit in the 3/4?

He might be better in the 4/3...

Or, maybe god just works in mysterious ways, because IMO...when he became religious that is when he seemed to lose his desire....?

I remember when RW was drafted, he said something like he only wanted to play for 7-8 years in the league.

I thought to myself "that's not too good", but I didn't think much of it at the time.

Part of me thinks that RW got his money, made a few pro bowls, etc., etc. It could simply be the desire to try to be the best isn't there anymore. I don't know the guy, so I'm obviously just speculating. But it could be that he wants to try and play again to prove the Cowboys wrong and salvage his ego, but truthfully, he may not want to pay the price as much as he did when he was younger.

I wonder if it had anything to do with the death of Sean Taylor. I know they were fans of one another and maybe they were always trying to out do each other. Now that Sean is gone maybe that drive is no longer there and he doesn't care anymore. I don't know this just popped in my head.

He's not in shape:

As far fetched as that sounds...that does seem to be when the flollowing year he regressed in a bad way?

I know he used that as an excuse but regardless of 4-3 or 3-4, coverages are pretty much the same for the four guys in the backfield.

I don;t know? All I know is that when he came to the Cowboys he was a kick *** then take names!

All of a sudden, he looks like trash...something happened.

He was like the Demarcus Ware of the secondary and then all of a sudden he vanished.

I question if he was on steroids.

Nobody goes from that amazing to just very average.

I don't think it was roids, because he never looked buffed up...he always looked kinda chubby. But he could lay the wood!

I wonder, now...jsut thinking, that when they put in that Roy Williams Horse Tackle rule, that is another time that I think he regressed...and maybe he thought he could not play "his game"?

But, like you said, you don't forget how to ride a bycicle in just a season or two.

I remember that, too.

I want to say I heard him say it on the Jim Rome show during an interview, a year or two into his career, but not sure about that.

But, yea, the fire definitely went out at some point around year 5 or 6.

Last I checked you still need to cover people as a safety in a 4-3.

I noticed the same connection.

How dare you? HOW DARE YOU?!
He was a very good 1st and 2nd year player - a real playmaker. D-Ware is the best defensive player in football, one of the best overall, and on his way to a HOF career.
RW and D-Ware in the same sentence....:nono2:

OK, I really just wanted to use those emoticons :D
