Or, maybe god just works in mysterious ways, because IMO...when he became religious that is when he seemed to lose his desire....?

God to RW:

"Thou shall not hit hard or 'horse collar"..."
"Thou shall not covet or cover thy opponents TE..."
"Thou shall harmlessly chase TEs and WRs down the field and immediately point a finger at a teammate once the play has concluded..."

I'm really glad he's gone.:)

I have looked around, but, does anyone know the status of Roy Williams (safety)?

Has he even had any nibbles from other teams? Or, has he signed already with someone?

I thought it was agreed that we would never speak of --- -------- again.

He will catch on with another team. Oakland, Arizona . . . Miami:D

Maybe New Orleans because they are cheap.

I remember when RW was drafted, he said something like he only wanted to play for 7-8 years in the league.

I thought to myself "that's not too good", but I didn't think much of it at the time.

Part of me thinks that RW got his money, made a few pro bowls, etc., etc. It could simply be the desire to try to be the best isn't there anymore. I don't know the guy, so I'm obviously just speculating. But it could be that he wants to try and play again to prove the Cowboys wrong and salvage his ego, but truthfully, he may not want to pay the price as much as he did when he was younger.

I remember this too and also thinking, this isn't good. Not just because he wanted a short career, but the great ones love to play so much that you have to almost force them off the field. I doubted his desire to be the best that he could after hearing this. Here he was, just drafted and he is talking about calling it quits after a short career? I remember him saying less than 7 years, but I may be wrong. I loved Roy and was in denial about his declining play (although he was blamed a lot for others mistakes). I can admit that it just seemed like he wasn't intense anymore. His fire seemed to leave, which means that he needed to leave the Cowboys. Either way, I am glad that we are concentrating on getting guys that love the game. I think that matters.

Statistically, he is still one of the top safeties in the NFL.
He will hook on somewhere and get the credit Adam knows he deserves.

How dare you? HOW DARE YOU?!
He was a very good 1st and 2nd year player - a real playmaker. D-Ware is the best defensive player in football, one of the best overall, and on his way to a HOF career.
RW and D-Ware in the same sentence....:nono2:

OK, I really just wanted to use those emoticons :D

Your other response was very witty and funny. :p:

However, as much as I stand alongside those that wanted this guy outta here, I still can recognize the immense value he brought to the team before he found the good lord above and that member of Destiny's Child... How soon we forget...

We kept him around too long and I credit Jerry for that blunder. Yet still, I can remember the good with the bad and at his best he was top 3 in Safeties playing at the time. Hands down.
