You would be incorrect. Ghangus Khan was a Mongol and his brutality is well known.

typically the term refers to someone with down syndrome

where did I say that you said it was the sports fault? If your issue is with the sport then why use this instance to make your stand? And how is running at one another full speed not barbaric?

The intent of the game isn't to injure. Only a few ***holes that play the game make it their intent. Those players should not be allowed to play.

The term has an actual definition and it isn't the definition you defined.

Yeah, that's not how it's used.

I didn't use slang, I used it's actual definition. My guess is some idiot used it (causing it to become a slang term) as the meaning you mean without actually knowing what it actually meant. His idiocy is not mine.

No, I know what you meant: only someone brutal and Khan-like could participate in MMA.

Mongoloid isn't a substitute for that.

The term has nothing to do with brutality or Genghis Khan in any context, except a derogatory one - which is what you're trying to worm your way out of.

What you said is like saying someone is being "Jewish" instead of calling them cheap.

Mongoloid, even if you're just going for the original definition refers to those of Mongolian decent. So unless you're goal was to say that everyone of mongolian decent is brutal, you can probably just admit you used the term in the wrong way and move on.

The question is whether you can do that or whatever you'll just keep trying to redefine a word that is considered highly derogatory in every content except anthropological.

I used to the term as an indirect reference to Khan. Just because you disagree with my views of MMA the *sport*, don't try to portray me as some sort of racist or elitist. If you actually believed that, you would be in for a real shock if you actually knew me....and my family. ;)

I DID refer to it as imbecilic. I do stand by that. Why don't they make it a true bloodsport. Legalize use of blunt weapons too. It will get the job done quicker and raise the stakes.

I believe in sparing, but in sparing you aren't intentionally trying to do harm to someone else. You only attempting to gain mastery and improvement. True violence should only be used out of necessity. Violence is not a sport. It's a tool of war. I find it imbecilic to use a tool of war for sport if it's use is used as intended for war. (ie, not like a gun being used for target shooting)

I'm not trying to portray you as anything. You used a derogatory term without intention of being derogatory (at least not to people of mongolian decent) but you seemed to have a very different understanding of what the word means from most people and then attempted to defend it.

So it was either we just let it go and you keep using that word when what you really mean to say is that you believe it's brutal or we say something.

I really couldn't care less that you dislike MMA, I'm pretty sure you've already established that. What I do care about is your somehow intimating that MMA had anything to do with a couple of drug addicts losing their minds or the other way around - that only someone capable of cutting a mans heart out would possibly be interested in MMA.

If you weren't suggesting either of those, then I don't get the point of the OP.

I believe I've already established the fact that I only stated an opinion on MMA the *sport* and didn't link what happen to the so called sport. I am extremely aware of what drugs can do to people. As I noted earlier, my family also has experience with drugs also. (death from drugs)

The term has an actual definition and it isn't the definition you defined.

the intent of the game does not make it any less barbaric than it is so try again.

I know the word has an actual definition and the way you used it doesn't fit the definition you are using.

basically what you said is either a) only a person being a major human racial classification traditionally distinguished by physical characteristics such as yellowish-brown skin pigmentation, straight black hair, dark eyes with pronounced epicanthic folds, and prominent cheekbones and including peoples indigenous to central and eastern Asia would participate in mma

or

b) only a person affected by Down's syndrome would participate in mma

Wow, what? Try looking up the definition of barbaric. You cannot be cruel without intent.

I've already clarified. If that isn't good enough, then deal with it.

What did I screw up? Having an opinion is screwing up? No. Well, unless someone here disagrees with it. Of course, I don't give a damn what other people think. I think I've already established that a few hundred times on this board.

MMA *the sport* is imbecilic. If you disagree, by all means; go get your head kicked in.
