Sounds like defense lawyer jargon to me. "Ladies and gentleman of the jury, Timothy McVeigh didn't handle his emotions very well that day."

NBD.
I guess I can give you credit for not jumping straight to Hitler. Good job?

I last fought a girl in middle school. After that, I learned better not to fight girls. People can change.

You piece of garbage. We should ruin your career and you should never, ever be allowed to ever have a job. Your not fit to ______ at work ever again. Plus you have to wear a windbreaker with a big red D. Obviously people will have to decide what the D means.

This is obviously in jest.

Let's see: Allegedly happened in HS. Did happen in college. We might have a pattern.
No, alleged AFTER the college incident. Some dude was either trying to get attention because his daughter knew somebody "famous" or maybe he thought he could get money.

PFT has a story up talking to Gil Brandt and he talked about another incident where Mixon allegedly threw a girl to the ground and hit her back in high school.

If that's true, I wouldn't touch him with a 7th round pick
I would take him in the 2nd round.

I can maybe forgive a one time incident, but a repeat offender, that's hard to overlook. I get the argument that he's young and that we do dumb things when we're young, but with multiple incedents you have to believe that he has a violent streak that's not going to go away with age.

I'm sure I'd have many more words and feelings on the matter were it personal for me, but it's not personal for me. I am removed from emotions overwhelming other considerations and with that cold calculus make a better business decision.

I'd take him.
This. I don't understand how people act as if they are so concerned with things that happen to others like that. If this was the normal way things went a lot of problems in the world would be avoided. We know that's not the case but people like sounding good so it is what it is.

Just curious. If the guy has a history of domestic violence and the NFL has an image problem in that area, how much rope do think the league is going to give him before they suspend him for any number of games if he acts up... in any way? How many yards will he be gaining for your ballclub sitting in the stands? Is that a good business decision? Was it a good business decision to gamble with a guy like Gregory? How about Hardy?

Im willing to take a chance in the 3rd or later...

Most people act like they made zero mistakes when they were younger

I think what bothers me, if anything, is the word in the title of the thread "another"....it likely doesn't stop me from drafting him, but it would push him to the 4th round or later and he could go in the first or 2nd to someone

It's going to boil down to whether you are willing to take an elevated risk for a superior talent. Some guys I will and some guys I won't. I would for Mixon.

I think a character defect like this is manageable with counseling and maturation, more treatable than say drug addiction, but I worry about him in a world where NFL players already have a target on their back. With a video of prior domestic violence, Mixon will seriously need to watch his back from here on out.

This is lynch mob mentality.

You have no idea if he did something in high school or middle school.

The world saw him hit a girl on camera and now people come up with other stories, probably to get attention.

Too much bad PR. The video can't be denied.

It would be a distraction to the team.

I should have prefaced the post with if these new allegations are true.

lol. OK. Draft him if he falls to the 4th rd. He would be the steal of the draft at that spot. This boy can play Football...and he will get his shot...just as well he gets his shot in big D. Good player. Take a chance.
