Yep, Jack Clark had ONE bat speed. His bat was fast and hard thru the zone for sure. Then guys like Vince Coleman to get on base and willie mcgee who had a lil pop. I got some Cardinals autographs after an exhibition game at RFK right before the season started. I got Ozzie Smith, Jack Clark, Todd Worrell and a few others. I always remember how willie mcgee signed his name, all lower case letters. He didnt capitalize any letters. :D I remember Whitey Herzog was a jerk.

LOL!

I remember the Yankees trading McGee for a shot-armed Bob Sykes...

Miquel Gonzo entered last nites game with the 22+ ST era but CC looked like he had too many donuts before the game getting tagged for 6 runs before getting yanked.

Ken Singleton and Michael Kay were saying that CC says he wants to pitch another 4-5 yrs. I bet 4 teams in the AL East would love that! Apparently CC feels he can learn to "pitch" now that he doesnt have his velocity any longer.

One of the absolute worst "Opt-outs" ever.

Any time the Yankees put him out there, it's a give-up.

Not as a starter.

He's a $25 million reliever.

The way the announcers were talking last night it sounded like the #5 SP spot was between him and Nova. And they also felt like Nova would have to be clearly better to beat him out. It sounded to me like CC was kinda locked into the spot.

Yep, those two guys are competing for that spot.

As of right now:

Sabathia is 0-2 with a 7.36 ERA and 10 runs allowed in 11 innings.

Nova is 0-0 with a 2.00 ERA and 2 runs allowed in 9 innings.

There's still some ST to go, but right now Nova has a clear lead IMO.

Based on those numbers the choice is pretty clear. I wonder how CC will handle going to the bullpen?

Yeah, not sure what to think of that.

As you've pointed out, several similarities between the clubs.

Obviously they're only ST games... Real bullets will be flying soon enough.

Pirates & Cubs only have 5 wins each. Mets have 7. Royals are 10-12.

Prob more significant to see how the teams do from this point on as we get closer to Opening Day.
