MM calling plays worries me for this reason

This year Dallas passed 556 times and ran it 531 times. Unless he's changed his philosophy, McCarthy could be even pass happier than Moore.
The silliest myths/lies:
"Kellen Moore is pass happy"
"Kellen Moore gives up on the run to easily"

If we set aside the teams with QBs who run a ton (Chicago, All, Philly, ) Dallas was #3 in most rushing attempts.

If anything Moore ran it too much

How to Cooper Rush win with all those problems. Wow he must me a miracle worker.

My concern would be getting away from the run game. McCarthy passed 58% of the time as a playcaller in GB. Kellen's 4 year average of run plays is >470 runs per year, a number Mike never reached in Green Bay. The most runs he ever had was 459 in 2013. That was with Scott Tolzien and Seneca Wallace starting three games. His offenses averaged ~414 rushes per year.

Yeah, McCarthy talks about the run game, but it seems just talk, as you can find him talking about it in the same way when he was in Green Bay. Guess we'll wait and see. Would be hilarious if his "different philosophy," with Kellen was wanting to throw more.
When you have Aaron Rodgers as your QB you CAN pass more. When you have Dak as your QB you NEED to run more.

McCarthy was already a bad in game manager when he didn’t have the responsibilities of calling plays. Our time management was always poor we rarely challenged calls...

I really hope we have someone on the staff that’s in charge of clock management cause MM couldn’t do it when that was one of his only few responsibilities on gameday.
What worries me more than MMs play calling is his scrub QB executing the play.

Curious as to how "mac threw Kellen under the bus"? Mac is the head coach so it SHOULD be as simple as this: if Mac deems a new offensive coordinator is needed, then that's the way we go.
That's how normal franchises are won.

That can easily be done on someone on his staff. He has been a playcaller for years, our hope he comes up with some modern tweaks.

I look at it like this. Maybe his clock management gaffs were because he wasnt calling the plays. Its like putting in a cold player in a soccer game and expecting him to make a penalty (yes I am taking a shot at England). When you are calling the plays and in the moment you probably have a better sense of what is happening.

Just my 2 cents.

well for one thing it would be jerry who decided if kellen needed to be replaced.
Mac was saying to jerry he could do better if he was calling plays, and jerry opted to go with that.
Despite what he has said mac has never liked kellen as OC or playcaller.

In dallas, the HC does not decide these things, jones boys do, mainly jerry.

He won't have Aaron Rodgers in his prime... So I have no idea how he makes a super bowl winning offense with what we have
You don't make the superbowl. Not unless you entirely retool the offense to not be Dak centric. Improved Offensive Line, vastly improved running game and better receivers at the #2 and #3 spot. With that you might be able to make it past San Fran and Philly. Going into another season expecting Dak to pass you into a SB win is another wasted season.

My worry is Dak consistently being able to hit/lead his receiver in stride on these slants.

Just hire a coach to be the time manager, let him call the timeouts and advise on situations…easy and problem solved

Probably the opposite.

He'll have a better "feel" for how the game is going.

Play caller is like a player in the game.

Non-play caller is like a player on the sideline.

On 103.5FM, they said KM ran the ball on 1st down 58% of the time and this is something that is going to be much different with MM. Big Mike passed more on 1st down than run when he was in GB. They also mentioned 58% is really high and said Schottenheimer who is known for running the ball too much only ran %51 on 1st down when he was with Seattle.

Also KM passed more than 57% both in 2019 and 2021 when Dak was healthy for the full season. We probably ran more this year due to Dak's injury. Because our defense was better than last few years, we could lean on the defense and the run much more this year.

MM makes some clock management decisions that are questionable but watching the rest of the NFL's HC I think he is held to an unfair standard in that regard of no mistakes. Most coaches make a lot of such mistakes. Heat of the moment is what it is.

Well he did help coach his team to a Superbowl victory before so it can be done again. Rodgers hasn't won another since MM been gone....

As long as we can remain balanced the offense should still put up empty calorie stats like it always does and people will applaud it.
Something to think about regarding empty calorie stats.......doesn't Kellen Moore often get praised for the numbers when we're told his offense was in the top of offensive stats, but Dak numbers (before this year) were often questioned, thus described as the empty calorie stats? Help me understand that.

maybe dak needs to stand on the sidelines more and watch Rush play. Remember he said playing from the side was so easy. I guess he doesn't learn well.

you saved me a post..thats exactly my thought he will be in tune with the flow of the game and can feel the situation in real time ie no delay.
