I’ll break it down for people as simply as I know how. Whether you go for two on the first or second TD, assume we miss.
Now, would you rather know this sooner or later? That simple.

The biggest thing I took away from yesterday are the balls of coach MM. He was completely aggressive and that's what WE ALL wanted including myself. Let's trust the coach for the next 2 years, then we can start b******* and moaning about his decisions. After all, he ACTUALLY won a Super Bowl. His team isn't complete after one (strange) off season, he doesn't have all of the players he wants yet. This takes at least a couple to three years to accumulate.
It works equally well the other way! Assume you make it in both scenarios. I still would rather know that earlier.kind of a defeatist attitude
The post i responded to said it didn't make a difference if it is a 1 score game or 2 score game on how you approach it. I disagree. It makes a huge difference on how you approach it. So with that knowledge I understand MM logic on trying the 2 pt conversion at that point. I just don't agree with that logic.What. Are. You. Talking. About?
You have no idea what argument you're actually making.
Not really. The point is, if you make the 2-pointer (early or late), the rest of the argument is moot. You score one TD with a two-pointer and one TD with a one-pointer and you tie the game, no fuss no muss, and it made zero difference whether you attempted it early or late. It's only when you miss that the strategic implications become clear.kind of a defeatist attitude
Right, I mean the guy was already down by 20, why not just go all in at that point. Put your a** there, you have nothing to lose at this point and because of that, and because he actually had the nerve to try to win this, they actually did. That's actually a life's lessonAgreed! And we were *****ing and moaning about how Garrett never went for it and all. At least MM takes some chances unlike Garrett. I think he made a lot of good decisions. The 2 points didn't work, but it was the right move.

I do think the second fake punt was a pretty bad decision. Sure seemed like the situation wasn't favorable and they should have optioned back to the punt. But otherwise I agree: be aggressive!Agreed! Well it does actually. There is a world of difference how you approach a drive if you have 4 minutes to score or if you know you have to score twice in those same 4 minutes. I understand what MM is saying and on some level it is logical. I just don't think it is the correct move. If you kick the extra point, you only need 1 possession to tie and with 4 minutes left in a game, getting 2 possessions is going to be tough. So basically, it comes down to this for me, with the game on the line, I would rather have my O, with all those weapons over a on-side kick attempt which has almost no chance.

But you need the onside kick regardless, if you miss the two-pointer. Doesn't matter if you attempt the two-pointer early or late: if it fails, you're out of options except for the onside kick. You either learn that with 4 minutes left, down 9 points, or you learn it with almost no time left, down 2 points.Well it does actually. Ah, I missed that about MM. That makes me feel better. Thanks.Oh, I agree, and McCarthy admitted it was a mistake. He said in his postgame address that he wished he had that one back. If we were going to go for it there, we should've just done a regular go for it or punt it. Other than that, I loved the aggressiveness. Just wish that Chris Jones could throw lol.

Yeah, if you need to make 5 yards, I'd rather depend on my offense, which is built to gain yards, than my punting team, unless you're darn sure there's a very clearly advantageous situation for the latter (like we had in the first fake).
