You have to put in context. In 1996, accusing the star QB of the Dallas Cowboys of being gay was a huge deal. NLF lockers rooms (and society in general) weren't ready for a gay QB, let alone a gay QB of the most dominate, visible team in the league. Even if it were true, Bayless is a POS for trying to out somebody.While it is a weird thing to write I am not sure why he would care. If someone said that they thought I was homosexual, I would simply say "nope" and forget they exist 30 seconds after, maybe laughing about it in between those 30 seconds.
Edit: Basically if he accused him of drug use, or of being lazy, or of something that could actually affect his character I would get it, but this is the equivalent of accusing me of liking those home repair shows.
