The Packer teams were always know to be an excellent in the screen game, for what ever reason under Moore, they simply just couldn't execute such a call. They certainly have mobile lineman and excellent space backs to improve upon this area. If teams continue to play more coverage with lighter personnel against us, they is a way to exploit the looks they have been getting over the last 2 seasons.

The Cowboys have been a below average screen team for years. To the point they rarely tried it any more. Their RB's are dangerous in the open field and it makes a lot of sense to work on it this summer. I'd love to see that back in the Cowboy offense again.

I don’t think the screen game was part of KM’s offense. During the early Zeke years the Cowboys ran a bunch of screens. Zeke had big plays against the Steelers, Eagles, and 49ers off of screens.

People really need to take a look at Schottenheimer's offense while he was in Seattle.

Then it would be, "it sure looks like MM brought back the screen and an ability to disguise plays we have not seen in ages."

one X factor about the screen game could be Brian Schottenheimer. Granted he won’t be calling plays but he will be installing the game plan week to week. You go back and watch some of his offenses and the screen play was a factor. Just going back through old articles I caught a couple references about how he loved to call screens on 2nd and long situations, which played well off the vertical route approaches he took as an OC.

I will say this. Mighty Mouse, if active, and Pollard should be pretty sporty in the screen game

Executing a good screen game takes a lot of practice and if an OC isn't already bent in that direction, they do not have enough time with these players on the field as it is.

And while it looks like an easy short pass, some QB's, under duress and in close quarters, do not execute it well without a lot of practice and they also have to sell it to the defense that they're not running a screen.

If you ever hear an announcer say "the D player sniffed out the screen", watch the QB on the replay, that's where it usually all goes wrong.

It needs to come back. Frankly it will cut down Daks INT. He threw too many when we are 3rd and long. Even 2 and 10 a screen would be nice. This team has no excuse not to run them when you have TP and Deuce.

I don’t remember the last time this franchise ran a successful screen play.
this one comes to mind - the blocking was beautiful, Zeke direct line great job....me with my cardboard back could have scored on that...so of course instead of running it more or trying to work it in, we just pounded Zeke into the middle of the line.

I don’t man on one play, I mean regularly. (I could’ve been more clear)

Nothing helps a screen pass more than the ability to hold or pick off a WR with impunity…….the Patriots, Packers and Steelers have been doing it successfully for years.

One of the remaining problems with Dak's game, that he never overcame, was poor short passing.
He fixed his deep ball. Fixing his short ball would be a big plus to his game.

I don’t think it’s Dak why the screen game has faltered, put more blame on Shultz lack of ability playing in space then it was Dak’s inaccuracy

That's a good choice for Vaughn's Cowboys nickname, since "Duece" is his defacto first name. (Read a story that his mother called him that from his birth, and only his sisters refer to him by his real first name, Chris...short for Christopher.)
