I don’t think it’s Dak why the screen game has faltered, put more blame on Shultz lack of ability playing in space then it was Dak’s inaccuracy
yes, of course it is certainly Not Dak's fault ... when we were very successful with the RB screens in the old 2016-2017 ZKE era

Now once Kellen takes over .. the once potent RB screen game just dies and dries up like a withering leaf ...

And that's so astoundingly sad because as good as we were statistically high on offense ... just imagine if we were a deadly RB screen team

Even if Zeke himself was athletically on the rapid decline, .. we still had Tony Pollard whose one of the most speediest, explosive big play makers that could have been used
on RB screens.. en route to the TD end zone.

this one comes to mind - the blocking was beautiful, Zeke direct line great job....me with my cardboard back could have scored on that...so of course instead of running it more or trying to work it in, we just pounded Zeke into the middle of the line.

This Zeke is long gone , may be Pollard can show some speed ( or vaughn who can hide behind the blockers )

I'm thinking particularly of the RBs. Dak just doesn't throw nice swing passes to the RBs, and never has. Would seem like a simple thing to fix, especially when compared with his successful fix of his deep ball, but he hasn't gotten around to it yet.

Same year. I’m sick of the wide receivers screen for almost new yardage. Kellen Moore, favorite play
We haven't been very good at WR screens, picks or rubs for some reason. They do the bunch/stack(?) OK, but we don't really do it much.

The Packer teams were always know to be an excellent in the screen game, for what ever reason under Moore, they simply just couldn't execute such a call. They certainly have mobile lineman and excellent space backs to improve upon this area. If teams continue to play more coverage with lighter personnel against us, they is a way to exploit the looks they have been getting over the last 2 seasons.
I can see Deuce Vaughn being a real screen threat. I vote yes on working on the screen game. But it is not just calling the play, they have to practice selling it to the defense.

As I said, Packers under MM were one of the best screen teams in the league

It’s really mind blowing that they couldn’t execute a simple screen, hell Pollard was a receiver in college

Later in the thread I posted that I meant a successful screen play in the general sense. It was confusing on my part.
Pollard got a TD on a pass left side behind the LOS at about the 50 once. Last couple of years, I think.

I don't think we ran 1 single RB screen all season last year. VS the 49ers in the playoffs all I was screaming at the TV was to run a screen to keep their edge rushers guessing. All they were doing was pinning their ears back and rushing the QB all game. Doesn't take a rocket scientist offensive coordinator to figure this stuff out.

Totally, so puzzling not seeing this team integrate the RB screen last year. I thought it would be very helpful in games, particularly against some good defenenses like the 49ers. They also have Pollard who is very shifty in space and those plays could go for some chunk yards.

The screen game with a healthy Pollard should give cowboys fans goosebumps.

Screen game??? What's that? Sorry, I've been a Cowboys fan for years, so I kinda got used to not having a screen game. LOL

KMs resume could not support the screen, that area of the offense was ignored as well with Red to a large degree for various reasons, some selfish reasons.

MM fully understands Daks strengths and weaknesses and requires/covets RBs with hands coming out of the backfield, it's not only historically evident but personnel relevant as well when speaking of what MM needs inorder to adjust this offense into what MM scheme requires.

He needs rooks like Schoonmaker and Luepke to carve out a role quicker than most are willing to acknowledge at this point, and there was a reason why a 2nd was used on Schoon, and Luepke the best FB prospect arguably available in this draft was brought in.

OL, TE, RB will be the most difficult to transition and why the investment with the type of players MM needs, the build is under Construction Currently, we just haven't seen it played out yet.

Most fans have either forgotten or too young to remember how effective the short to intermediate game can be in a West Coast scheme and with true speed at WR now on both sides of the perimeter, that only stretches the field and stresses a back seven even more now, more than we have had the ability to do in quite some time.

By no misunderstanding am I saying this offense will be the fastest in the league, but it's the disguise of being able to use it often and key word.... efficiently .... that will be
the catalyst that drives MMs scheme and what this offense has been missing, hands and elusiveness are just as important as speed and vision.

MM requires a fast look offense, that can play short, intermediate game efficiently but also has a deep game threat when needed.

Sounds simple but is no easy task for MM to accomplish this considering the reigns have just been handed over to him, but this offense can definitely transcend if a couple chips fall right with this draft class.
