What's the difference between rest and a bye week?
????

One you have no choice and advance to the second round automatically

The other, you risk your starters looking rusty in the Wild Card against a team that gave us our worst defeat this season

Yes if we can't win the division then we should rest our players we are already banged up enough can't really afford anybody else to go down

Sure. But we have not been playing well. There is something important to being able to come into the playoffs rolling rather than reeling.

Yeah these geniuses actually sat through watching our coward head coach eliminate his own team in 2016 and they still want to take the weak, scared approach.
Remember when they were blaming our bad play in Week 1 on them not playing in the preseason?

How quickly they forget that the weak approach is the loser approach.

Agree 100%......in fact, if the Eagles clinch the division on Sunday, I'm leaving ALL 22 starters in Dallas for the game against the Commanders.

How can you do that on a 54 man roster? I'll answer, you can't. For one thing, you don't have enough olinemen. They certainly would rest Parsons and Kearse, and LVE. Dak would probably play the first half and then come out. They rotate the linemen and work in the backups. The would rest Barr and let backup linebackers play. The would rest Diggs. Davis would get the majority of carries in the 2nd half. They would rest Pollard again. Tolbert and Joseph would play.

One thing you know is losing after you told us they would only win 8 games and Cooper Rush is better than Dak. Tell us about losers again.

They aren't resting anybody if they are still alive for the division and the 1 or 2 spot.

Whoever is for sitting the players I don't want to see any complaints if they come out slow or look sluggish in the Wild Card games.

I'm telling you now.

Resting the starters with a group of guys that's never made a playoff run is a mistake.
You complained they played poorly vs Tennessee. They are a tired and beat up group. Nobody is rusty in week 18-19. But some definitely are tired and beat up. Give me the rest over repetition any day.

Last year didn’t they not rest players and still came out flat against SF.

bottom line anyone can second guess… what’s best for the team is rest. 17 days of rest will go a long way… especially for a team that has to try and win four straight

It doesn’t matter what Dallas does… that dude is going to complain. He must be here to complain because that is all that he’s done since he joined. You could read his posting history and see for yourself if he didn’t hide it by not allowing anyone to see it.

It is strange that he hates everything about the team / franchise that he says he’s a fan of.

Rest is rest though. I'm slow so maybe I'm not understanding

Not worth getting a key player hurt if it is essentially a meaningless game. This isn’t week 1 (after not playing much of the preseason)…they have played essentially a full season so it’s comparing apples and oranges.

It”s the playoffs, if they sit out key starters for week 18 and they come out flat and get their butts kicked, they were not going anywhere regardless…in my opinion.

All the Giants have to do is beat the Colts and they're in the playoffs. Locked in at 6th seed. So even if the Saints beat the Eagles, the Giants aren't going to play week 18 just so that the Cowboys win the division.

For anyone that holds on to hope of winning the division, we not only need the Saints to win, but the Colts as well.

I don't know. We have never seen Dabol coach in this situation but he is a pretty intense coach so he could go all out to win that game. We have to how he will play it. First they have to beat the Colts and the Eagles have to beat the Saints.

Yeah, maybe, I'm just going by what I usually see. In the past, I've seen teams not play hard for a better seed. But the Giants coach is an unknown.

Keep an eye on the Vikings game. They play the late game, and the Eagles the 1pm game. If the Eagles beat the Saints, I'm interested to see if the Vikings care about 2nd or 3rd seed.

That’s the key, a giants victory trumps all

If Eagles win and Div is 100% out of reach then I would rest/put on limited reps our starters. I'm usually dead set against it.. I think confidence and game time is really important heading into playoffs.. but our squad is so banged up.. we can't afford any more injuries.

However if the Div is in play.. even if it would be a slim chance.. you have to play for home field.
