Dak did do this, yes. But Tony gunned down Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs in 2014. The refs just chose to take it away.
I mostly agree but the Blandino nonsense is a factor. Even so, you're right. The quarterback's job is throwing catchable passes. It's the wide receiver's responsibilty to catch catchable passes. Romo threw a perfect catchable pass--to a top NFL receiver no less. Romo did his job but he and quarterbacks in general are blamed for incomplete passes (according to Blandino/not the field ref) like these all the time. It's stupid, plan and simple.

Maybe Dak needs the pressure of Romo coming back, hope we don't see a let down this week.

He will have a bad game at some point because all QBs have bad games; it won't be some kind of deep psychodrama between him and Romo playing out.

If anything, Dak has seen how quickly the Cowboys fanbase turned on Romo, and knows they'll do the same thing to him in a heartbeat. Romo has to be one of the best players hated by his own fanbase, and Dak has to know he's next in line for the same treatment the second he loses a game, or God forbid is the holder on a field goal attempt that goes wrong.

Nah, I think since he's a game manager that Dak will be far more insulated than Romo ever was. Usually the coaches get the most heat in those scenarios. The Chiefs keep trotting out Alex Smith year after year, even though they know darn well he won't be getting it done. Andy Reid will eventually end up taking that bullet.

People can argue all day long but Dak is the starting QB and I would hope people can back and support him. He has helped this team to a 8-1 record and has had to overcome in some tough and close games. Those who want to refer to him as a manager that's fine because if he can manage this team to the playoffs and SB who cares what you call him.

He is a rookie he is still learning he is not some finished product. Kid has the work ethic, the demeanor and intelligence to become a great QB instead of all the complaining it would be great to see cowboyszone show support for the kid. I say this as a big Romo supporter and should over the course of the season Romo is called into action I have no doubts about his ability to lead this team

Tony made the play to win the game. Dez caught it and it was taken way.

However, Tony did lead the team to victory in 2008. So, this idea that Dak did something Tony couldn't do in Lambeau Field is just false.

To be honest I don't think there was a lot of pressure on Dak for this particular situation. I have a feeling that he already knew, long before we did, that Romo had his back and was going to be the great team mate that he is. I think Dak probably stopped feeling that pressure weeks ago.

Romo doing what he did yesterday was nothing more than the classy move on his part so that the media would stop hounding everyone and speculating in an attempt to cause a QB controversy. Romo simply wasn't going to allow them to do that.

True but when you are the Dallas Cowboy QB there will always be outside pressure. I think Dak can handle it but the scrutiny will be greater. Thing with the press is they love to build you up just to knock you down. He will have some within the fan base questioning him more and pointing to Romo. Granted Dak has it easier than what Danny White had it since he was the man following Roger but Danny was constantly being slammed

Oh yes I am sorry I misspoke there. I didn't mean to assume he has no pressure at all. Of course he does being the QB of Americas Team.

I just think Romo ended any pressure and problems from the media trying to push a Romo vs. Dak agenda. Romo, IMO, has shut that stuff down.

Much respect to Romo. The players I am sure had already accepted this change. The Romo speech was for the fans. He is a true team player. He just made the transition a little easier than what it would have been for everyone involved. It was inevitable. See Manning and the transition to Luck. Tony's story is not over yet. He is on his way out but with the right team... It could be a Dejavu if Peyton's exit and retirement.

Your didn't hear?
It's well known he actually did complete the catch process when he made a football move and became a runner. Thus making his fall just another dive. The replay "official" made an error.

Apparently you didn't hear and still don't understand the RULE. The NFL confirmed the correct call was made under the RULE. We spent an entire offseason arguing it and I broke the play down NUMEROUS times because I understand the RULE. Dez never became a "runner" because he was "going to the ground" before his feet ever touched the ground due his momentum. The steps he took were while he was stumbling to the ground therefore he must maintain possession of the ball through the contact of the ground and he clearly didn't. Get over it!
