What I mean is is the play reviewed by some faceless person in the booth or the official on the field? Under what circumstances does the person in the booth just confirm it and when do they ask the official on the field to go under the hood? The booth official can confirm it but not overturn it?

My understanding is that it's the same person reviewing the play regardless of how the review was initiated.

Not 100% positive on that piece though.
