But exactly where would they put it. There are seems at the tip, somehow they would need to redesign how they are made.
And what if the side breaks the plane first. They would need a chip covering all around the ball.

It doesn't matter where you put the chip as long as its connected to an aluminum coating inside the ball. Then any part of the ball that crosses the goalline will be detected.
