MNF: Eagles at Chargers

I said this in another thread but that was the worst QBing I’ve seen from both starters in awhile. Embarrassing they play in the NFL. Had it not been for Herbert’s legs they lose that game.

I responded in that thread. I enjoyed Hurts and his 4 INT's. The last one was great, in lost the game for them.

In the last 12 months or before I was born?

My comment is not really in the past, it’s what’s happening in the moment
You didn’t answer my question. Also, loved seeing Sirianni cry over the holding penalty at the end of the half. :muttley:

At this point it's about bragging rights. Neither team is going to the SB, so does it matter who wins the division?

I thought the Eagles looked like the better team out there. I know one thing for sure, Herbert won't be running for his life or unable to get the ball out when they play us. We're lucky if we win a shootout.
Maybe you haven't learned something about today's NFL, whatever you saw last week from us ,or Sunday from the Vikings, or what you thought you saw last night, that means nothing this is a week to week league.

You know we've had games where we've had five sacks, multiple sacks, lots of pressure, the problem here is our inconsistencies come from our DC..

I believe your statement is not going to hold true I think they will get pressure, I think sometimes the more mobile quarterbacks will run into pressure because they take off more soon than somebody like Goff, who's been through the battles and Russell Wilson when we saw him with the Giants, if you don't actually get to him fast enough ,they don't mind the pressure around them, and they will wait till the very last second to get the ball off ,and our coverage is typically not good enough to hold that long...

But we have seen it be just good enough ,I think a guy just moves even three or four feet off his spot from the center he's moving towards one of our pressure guys ,so I know it's weird, but I thought about that..

But I'm one of those people that don't like making predictions, because of just that thing this is a week to week league and things that you see it doesn't carry over ,typically, it's a different game it's going to be a different set of circumstances with weird bounces and the weird calls, and the referees get involved, and the guy might make a circus catch, or drop an easy pass, Or that weird stuff last night that happened with the turnover on the interception that was fumble and then recovered, and then fumble again,

these are what change games outcomes..

I prefer not to use those words, like Herbert won't be running for his life ,he won't be affected ,blah blah blah,

dude you're making a wild guess, Like I said we've had games we've had four to 5 sacks each and then games with none, but I think the 10 days off, and let's stick to the Vikings first ,because you're already talking about Herbert, and I know you're talking about the Eagles game but we got to beat the Vikings first and JJ Mccarthy is not Herbert, even though he looked really good Sunday that's my point None of that which you saw from US against the Lions or JJ Mccarthy against Was it Washington, whatever it is,

it's a different game it's gonna be a different game.

Let's not jump ahead to the Chargers before we even handle the Vikings.....

Check out the girl in the background celebrating Hurts giving the game away. Gotta love Eagles' fans lol

It amazes me that as far a long as these players are in their careers and at the NFL level, they aren't taught to just kneel down or go down as soon as they secure a fumble.

Multiple players last night would grab a loose ball and try and fight for more yards. Knowing that chaos reigns on loose ball fumbles and they typically aren't skilled in securing the football anyways. Take the win and kneel down.

Unbelievable that hurts throws an interception,.recovers the fumble but keeps trying to fight and loses the ball again.

Stupid football IQ.

Philadelphians are all the same.

Something about that city just turns people into miserable humans.

This is why I give the Eagles a good shot to repeat. They can make any QB's day miserable. They won't give up a ton of points, therefore their inconsistent offense doesn't need to do a lot. Their defense is what saved them last year from losing to the Rams. The DL created havoc for Stafford near the endzone and they couldn't win the game.

Compare what the Lions did against the Eagles defense vs what the Lions did to our defense. We might have the worst defense in all of NFL or at the very least, bottom 4.
As opposed to us. Because even if they collapse and we win the division, where are we going? We have 0 shot in the playoffs beyond wildcard.

If anyone is interested, the Cowboy QB record for most turnovers without a TD is 5 by a guy named Steve Pelleur back in 1986.

Hurts matched that effort last night. lol

The bottom line is, we're not going anywhere whether we make the playoffs or not. This is not a super bowl team. Just because the league allows average to crap teams in the playoffs, that doesn't mean anyone can win it. For the Cowboys, the division is just bragging rights.

Not at Giants.
True, but the Giants have been so bad that it's hard for them to win anywhere. I think if we can win anywhere on the road it's at wounded Washington and at New York. Getting Minnesota and the Chargers at home definitely improves our chances at going 4-0.

Of course, catching Philly is likely going to depend on that same Washington team showing up for one of its two games against them. But it's not easy winning division games against the same opponent that close together.

Next week will tell us if we even have a chance at the division. If we don't beat Minnesota, nothing else really matters.

You know what, as a diehard fan ,I'm OK with that, maybe you're not, but I'm sorry dude, you're not the judge and jury on how We want this season to end..

Sorry that you feel that it'd be better to have a losing season, and get better draft picks, so we can just go through all this again, How many months before September 4th or whatever comes around for the next seasons start??

no, I want them to win out, regardless if we make the playoffs or not, and if somehow we sneak in the playoffs ,you say it's not possible to make a run from a wild card position, and I realize it's different because the Giants had a really good defense, but Eli Manning did it twice, It's it does happen. And if we don't recreate what the Giants did in 2018 we did this and ended up in the second round of the playoffs and lost by eight points to the Rams..

So, there is a small possibility not that I'm looking forward to that not that I'm expecting that that way my disappointment is smaller...

We just had to happen to us what seed was Green Bay in 2023 ,and what seed were we at a home game, right? You think the Green Bay Packer fans were upset that they were able to have a strong second half and beat the Cowboys in the 1st round even though they didn't go to a championship game or get to the Super Bowl do you really think they were angry about that that they would have rather had them have a losing season??

so you think because you came in here and decided to tell me how this works, that I should not be hoping that they win 10 games because, IMHO that alone would be a shock compared to how this season started, and all the crud that we've had to deal with, and that the team had to deal with..

I mean this has been disappointing in some ways other people expected it, but there was some crazy things that's happened along the way, too win 10 game,s would be a win in my opinion...

I know it doesn't feel like it because you want to go to the Super Bowl every year and I get it but there are a lot of teams that don't go to Super Bowls or even sniff Super Bowls.. Yet guess what they feel stadiums they're happy for every win they're being fans that's what fans do fans don't come in with these ridiculous expectations and put conditions on what they need to see in order for them to be happy and cheer and support the team in whatever way it is for that particular fan...

FYI, some of us just want to watch our football team win games, we don't sit here and put conditions on our fandom, like 0, "if you don't win if you don't break this drought, I'm just not going to care" That would be a pretty common condition I hear around here and that's ridiculous saying that the Cowboys are different than the rest of the league because we expect championships, since when??

That ship has sailed a long time ago..... I can tell you this from 1981 and on I just look at this as a one off each year and it's a week to week league like we're in right now watching to see if anything good can come from this season so all I'm expecting is just go win against the Vikings that's it that's what I'm looking at i'm not looking back I'm not looking forward...

So really, I just look forward to the football seasons however they turn out and we just restart next year..

Most Fans watch football games because they look forward to it during a very long tedious offseason, especially around here we got to hear everyone's opinions for a really long time on how the season went the year before, then it starts to talk about the draft ,and how they hate free agency, because Jerry never does something big, and then the drought comes up 75 times a day, And now you're telling me, as a fan, I can't just enjoy each week and hope they win games, because that's why I watch, I want my team to win at all costs EVERY WEEK..

Lastly,

IF That means the Cowboys have to be more creative around the draft, and actually be more alert, and smart on how they do draft picks, and stop picking injured players, stop picking players with upside with RAS etc, and just absolutely with less draft picks or picking in a lower end of each round that you're smarter and more precise,

that's on them ,that's what they're going to need to do, because I don't care about draft slots because I've seen number one overall picks and top 10 picks be terrible, so it doesn't matter where you pick as long as you pick the right guys...
