Don't understand the play calling either. The Chiefs are trying to go for home run plays with over a 1 1/2 minutes to go and a timeout at mid field. Just work the ball down the field and take what the defense is giving you.

If the defense gives you a wide open receiver down the field you take it. He just dropped it.
