Why does Reggie Bush get all the credit for the Saints ground game? He was good yes but so was the blocking and imo Deuce McAllister was really good, basically back to his old self last night. This is a guy that on the right team, if he stayed healthy, could have rushed for 2000 yards in a season, yet he's basically forgotten now.

I'm not so sure about the 2,000 yard mark - that's likely stretching it a little.

Nevertheless, I heard the ESPN guys giving Deuce plenty of credit last night - which I hate to admit because those guys annoy the hell out of me.

But the fact is that Bush does get a lot of attention, and that's typical for the media. The media likes to jump on bandwagons and give guys with a lot of potential too much credit before they have earned it.

I still wouldn't give you 2 cents for Fujita and maybe only a nickel for the "Largest Linebacker on the Planet"-- The Shanle.

Fujita led the Saints in tackles with 6 tackles, and had 1 sack. Shanle had 4 tackles and 1 sack. I like them both. Its kind of a shame. Parcells made them what they are, and then gave them away to the Saints. I'm not saying it was a bad decision - just kind of a shame. I'm happy for those guys though. It has to feel good to be making major contributions like that.

Fujita is in his 5th year in the NFL and only spent one year with Dallas - and the year in Dallas was statistically his worst one .......

Parcells can't get much credit .....

As for Shanle, Parcells only made him a starter after Dat and Fowler got hurt last year ...... Shanle was never at the top of Parcell's list.

I still think we made a big mistake getting rid of Shanle, and the way he's playing right now for the Saints makes me think they robbed us of a 4th round pick.:banghead:

Shanle is most certainly a parcells type of player so i disagree with this, but there's no way we were going to keep him since we drafted carpenter with a 1st rounder and had to move Ellis to that position as well. At least our front office was fair to him and sent him to a team where he could be a starter because that's exactly what he his. Teams just win with this guy in the lineup.

Defensive Coordinator Gary Gibbs clearly had a good feel for both Shanle and Fajita since he was their LB coach with Dallas.

It is probably a little too much to say Shanle was "never at the top of Parcell's list", but it is fair to say he was a 4th string ILB that got to start last year only because of injuries.

I personally like Shanle too, but he just wasn't going to be an regular player for us.

many were speculating that it would be a 7th, then there was a report from someone on a Saint's message-board, saying it was a 4th, but Matt Mosley, or Mickey, or both, confirmed that it was a 7th, it's somewhere in the archives zone

You are exactly CORRECT.......
