EDIT: He got lucky, but my point still stands. It always seems like the player goes for the glory as opposed to whats best for the team. No one cares if you stop the ball on the one, it's just props to the punter. You just ruin it when you go for it unneccesarily when you've touched the sideline or are in the endzone

Maybe because the play clock was winding down.

and? the five yard penalty actually helps the punter by giving him more space. so why burn a timeout at that spot on the field? seemed like a waste of a timeout.
