He had both feet in the end zone.
The MNF crew didn't do a good job of explaining that. Jaws seemed lost.

Yeah they do. If he was on the sideline and stretched to where he caught the ball outside the end zone boundary line and his feet are inbounds, he's inbounds and it's a TD.kmp77;3024750 said:But the feet has NOTHING to do with the call. You could have both feet in the endzone and stretched out and caught the ball on the 3 yard line. That doesn't make it a touchdown. Ref should have never mentioned the feet since they don't matter.

I am so tired of namby pamby weak D Cords playing a soft defense and essentially let the other team go all the way down the field without pressuring the QB.

The ball did not cross the plane until after he was downed. It doesn't matter where his feet are, as we saw in the Saints game.peplaw06;3024743 said:According to the rule we saw yesterday in the Giants-Saints game... i.e. forward progress as to where the Giants WR caught the ball as opposed to where he landed, this ruling makes sense to me.

It's a TD if either the ball crosses the goalline or the feet, a knee, elbow come down in the end zone.
If you see a ball carrier on the sideline headed for the goalline, and they lose their balance and tilt to where the ball is across the sideline, it can still be a TD if they get their feet inside the pylon.

They aren't throwbacks when they are worn for half the season.
kmp77;3024765 said:So when did the aspect of the ball has to cross the plane of the goal to be a touchdown removed???? So now you can be 2" inside the endzone, lean out and catch it at the 3 and thats a touchdown now?

Rule 11 Scoring
Section 2 Touchdown
Article 1 It is a touchdown (3-38):
(a) when a runner advances from the field of play and the ball touches the opponents’
goal line (plane); or
(b) while inbounds any player catches or recovers a loose ball (3-2-3) on or behind the
opponents’ goal line.

This was the same issue as seen in the Santonio Holmes TD catch against the Ravens in the playoffs last year.
