Guess you cant completely take a player out of the game, who would of thought
Exactly. Their gameplan was to get AB the ball. They went to him early with a couple short passes to get him involved. Took a shot down field, which it nearly costs them because he nearly fumbled it. But they kept going to him and look at the result. Seems like if Dez drops a pass we instantly go away from him. Gotta keep him engaged and part of the gameplan like Pitt does with AB.

AB gets open. Dez is am easy cover.

Romo makes Dez, just like he did Miles Austin, Laurent Robinson, Patrick Crayton, and now Williams, too.

Indeed, when you have a playmaker on your team you do whatever it takes to get him as many touches as possible. Yes, being a decoy can be extremely useful, but ultimately a waste if you dont get him the touches.

This game looks familiar. One team outplaying the other. Except the dominant team is settling for FGs, while the other is scoring TDs. Lets hope for a similar outcome as Sunday's game.

I don't buy that. Dez may not be a speedy guy like Brown or Beckham but he sure can get open because of his route running and physicality. He's a different style of receiver. Half the time he's open when he really isn't because of his ability to jump over the defender and snag the ball. Gotta give him more chances, more targets.

so if Dez can't catch or get separation why is he on this team?
He's tremendous at battling for the ball and running tough with it.

But he's not bright enough to effectively work the slot, and he's not a great route runner.

Romo can throw him open though.

How does Romo do that?

He's not a good route runner. Doesn't run the proper depth. Doesn't read defenses at all. That's why they give him so few routes to run, and rarely use him in the slot. He doesn't get it.

The Steelers motioned Brown into the backfield on a 3rd and short.

That is how you decoy.

So, he sucks.

Darn. Wish we did not sign him to a contract worth an elite player.

If he is that bad, we are complete imbeciles for paying out the nose for him.
