There was a play early where he tried to lower his shoulder rather than try and wrap up. We are going to see that all year until he can rest it and let it heal.

At the same time, he is staying with his man, not getting torched, and able to make plays on the ball. He has gotten better as the season wears on.

That is my view at least.

His confidence has gotten better which is making his play better with it.

I said it before and I will say it again, the whole reason Allen was brought in was for veteran leadership because our safeties have no idea how to get themselves lined up. Church has been awful the last two weeks but Wilcox has been even worse. Both of these guys have the potential to be very good, but not in the same backfield together and after a decent amount of grooming. In the offseason we are going to have to choose one and commit and then get another cover safety with a head for the game.

I'd have to look more at Wilcox. He doesn't seem to be an issue. But, he's also playing an extremely deep off the LoS on almost every down, so it's very, very conservative approach with him. I tend to think that they are happy with Wilcox given he's a rookie and it was enough to cut Allen. I can't imagine they are happy with Church, but Allen can't really play the SS position.

Think he is def getting better - only thing I saw that I took issue with was his celebrating the play on 3rd down where the receiver just plain dropped the ball right in his lap. And there's Claiborne acting like he caused the incompletion. If the receiver had held the ball would have been another 1st down with Commanders marching.
Apart from that, he played OK, and that's how I think he will be all year. Needs to heal, hope he does not require surgery this off season for his shoulder.

He tried to tackle like a 5 year old on that play. He wasn't favoring his shoulder, he just put his head down. You gotta see what you hit.

Why exactly is Mo being called out this game?

Did you see him whiff on a tackle that gave Washington a big first down. He did not even try to make the tackle. The runner just ran by him without having to make a move.

Fail thread. The ones calling him out didn't watch the game, don't understand it, or just trolling. I will let you choose where you stand out of those three.

He has struggled no question about that but not tonight.

It was his poor tackling that made me create the thread. I am not a hater. He made a couple of good plays last night and maybe he will mature into a good corner. I was hoping for far more and am dissapointed. He is not any better than Scandrick or the dude we let go to the Raiders who had one good year.

If you two ignore the 30 other times where he simply had his guy covered and RG3 had to go elsewhere you'd be about right.

JT surely you jest. Take off those rose colored glasses, they are blinding you. There isn't that better. Now watch #24, if you can't see the number just watch the one that normally does nothing==Tackle, Pass defend, One that doesn't look like he belongs in the NFL. He might make one or two plays a game but gives up countless other negative plays, that far out weighs the positive ones.

You are really overreacting on the Church issue. He had a bad game. I highly doubt the coaches aren't happy with his play. The guys played 9 games, I think it's safe to say he will get better with more experience. He's out there with a rookie and he doesn't have a lot of experience. Heck Church's play this year has been solid and he's been a great surprise and better then any safety we've fielded in a long long time. I doubt they are looking to make a change at all

He can't tackle thats for sure,i so those misses to.Deion never tackled a person in his life, but boy could he cover one on one.
I can live with the bad tackling as long has he gets better in coverage.I thought he played ok,a lot better than a few games ago.

I don't know why Morris is scared to tackle.
Even if he is scared to get trucked, he could at least slow them down.
Our Dfense misses tackles, but that happens all the time and sometimes those things will happen.

The D hustles to the ball on an overwhelming majority of snaps. He needs to realize he has help coming. I think he's gaining confidence. But he definitely need to be a better tackler. Because I know it's possibly going to be a time where it looks like he has a sure tackle and then the ball carrier breaks said tackler and takes the ball to the house. And nobody will rush to the ball and help because it should of been a tackle that he should obviously make, but won't.
