Here is a second attempt at a Mock. May not be everybody's flavor, but at this point it is all pure speculation and about what you like and how you value them. BPA and if you like em you grab em.
1. Demarcus Lawrence DE - To be quite honest it took me a while to come around on Lawrence. I didn't see what people were seeing, but kept watching video. I've now come to the conclusion that Demarcus Lawrence does in fact have good snap reaction, but most importantly he is a smart player and one that is good all-around. He sets the edge well for a guy his size, can get to the QB, hence the production at Boise, but does a great job diagnosing the run and making a play. This is who I like in the first if it comes down to the likes of him vs Dee Ford(I may be in the minority, but I also like Hog-head cheese, not everybody likes hog-head cheese)
2. Scott Crichton DE - Although Lawrence IMO is the smarter pick in round 1, I think Scott Crichton is my favorite DE of the bunch. This guy constantly applies pressure off the edge and makes plays on the runner. He's tough to handle and if he is available, this is my top choice in the second round.
3. Jordan Tripp OLB - This is usually the round which people take a guy like Telvin Smith when they go LB. I'm going to go against the grain and take Jordan Tripp, because I think he'll be available and I think he fits the mold of what is trying to be done here. A good health billing and productive player, Tripp has the attributes necessary to succeed at the WLB spot but the experience and capability to play inside if needed. This is good depth and good player to have on your team.
4. Trai Turner OG - To be totally honest, the only gametape I have not watched are those of the offensive lineman. I don't have the patience, but there are those who do watch them and watch them consistently, so I'm rolling with Turner here. LSU's production in the run game up the middle came from somewhere.
5. George Uko DT - I think Uko is a perfect fit playing the 3T in Marinelli's defense. Guy is quick off the snap and gets the a gap with strength and speed. Great size. May have to develop, but I think He'll be just fine.
7. L'Damian Washington WR - Size, speed, speed, speed, and size. You got to love his determination to move through life. A big redzone target and a necessary deep threat with the flexibility to play outside.
7. Trey Millard/JC Copeland FB - We need a fullback. If one falls to the 7th, it would be good to grab one.
7. Carlos Fields Jr. OLB - Killed at his proday. Should provide more depth to the LB group. VERY productive although at a small school.
7. Shaquille Richardson CB - Corners, you gotta have 'em.
7. Casey Pachall QB - I like a guy who probably has a strong mental makeup because he's been to the lowest of the low. Has the tools, has the arm. It's the 7th, so Red could get over the whole RKG thing here.
7. Henry Josey RB - Scary knee injuries, but bounced back strong. AVG 8.1ypc in 2011. MIssed 2012 with injury, bounced back with 6.7ypc and 16td in 2013.
P.S. I'd rather trade down in the 1st and pickup some more picks.
