Mock Draft 3.0

I don't think it's LVE but who knows. BTW, I like DJ Moore and I wouldn't be heartbroken if they picked him in round 1. Just think they need impact defensive help more and you can get decent WRs in rounds 2-4. We'll see.

I can handle Moore, unlike some of my Cowboy bretheren i see His quality..His size speed, explosiveness is the antithesis of Hurns..Its a good match..Can he block for the running game? Idn but he works hard at playing Wr

Although i realize that high round wrs production not usually world shattering he doesnt have to produce ones numbers..Id take twos and for real, give me three reveivers with twos numbers, with the running game its actually better balance..

Im.not in the HYPE lbr sweepstakez..Honestly you are taking a lbr for depth in the first round? I dont see it..Further he is not solid on his fundamentals in mlb play as it relates to posting up guards..Some what weak in physicality..So im okay with that on your mock..The lbr you took is scary perfect..

I like Moore too, but we have bigger needs to fill.

Dane Brugler said it would be at 50? I got his draft guide and he lists Moore as a 4th round pick. I like Moore and the 4.34 forty is enticing, but the short video review I did really didn't jump out at me.

TAVARIS Moore
School: Southern Mississippi Position: Safety Class: Senior Height: 6-0 Weight: 199 lbs Projected Draft Round: 3-6 speed 4:47

6-1, 195-pound Moore caught my attention with a scintillating pro day that included a 4.32-second 40-yard dash, a 38.5-inch vertical leap and an 11-foot, 1-inch broad jump. When a player produces speed and explosive numbers like that, it requires an extra look at the game tape because those traits are going to be highly coveted by NFL teams. What I found on tape was a safety with good size, play speed that matched his timed speed as well as the smooth footwork and athleticism needed to handle his coverage duties. Moore has cover skills and he's a downhill run supporter. He has quality ball skills and instincts.

Is that an update from Bruger? This is what is listed in his draft guide:

SUMMARY: A one-year starter at Southern Miss, Moore was the starting free safety in the Golden Eagles’ 4-2-5 base defense in 2017, putting together the senior campaign scouts were hoping to see from the JUCO transfer. He posted head-turning numbers at the team’s pro day, which reflect his on-field athleticism and range, flashing fast angles and pursuit speed to chase down ballcarriers. Moore looks to tune up his target, but has room to tidy up his fundamentals in run support. Overall, Moore has yet to play his best football and with added discipline, he has the athletic skills and natural instincts to make his mark in a starting secondary, projecting best as a nickel defender.

GRADE: 4th Round

I doubt Moore is the best value at 19, but like everything else except that you don't adequately address the LB position. Shaq Griffin is not an every down player. I think Evans or LVE at 19 would be better (are they both off the board at 19 in your scenario?)

THE hype lbr is not a every down player..Not for the cowboys..He is allegedly a mlb, but his skill set is more of a olb or weakside lbr..Which means he is going ro be sittng there waiting for lee to get hurt or retire..He is not a point of attack lbr meaning he doesnt take on guards, and doesnt shuck them to the ball carrier. He is sound read and react lbr with size. ENORMOUS size 6-5 255 Which Is what most likely has hyped him..He has some dev time in the Nfl. The kind that is nit usually worth a first round pick..At least not for the cowboys..

Lets think about this. THE idea is to draft a mlb who can play MlB, and move smith outside to take advantage of his blitz and run production at the Sam..in spots..That means he would get considerable snaps there. THIS guy aint ready!

This was from a recent analysts Draft profile..fifty is high but This guy was overlooked and snubbed by the combine..His,stock has, shot up based on his pro day, and interest from the Cowboys. To answer your question i believe he is worth the two..he prob wont last till the three especially if Seattle finds a trade partner.. He is the real deal..

LAST if you want to chance it at 81 thats where i thought he would be or the four, But the recent buzz moving him up..81 maybe, 4th no.

I wish that was the case..Vea will be gone, and Stephen is not budging on his opinion of one techs..

So You are saying we trade for seattles, safety and they take Moore..at two. HOW about we let them keep the safety and take moore ourself at fifty. He is cheaper, younger, has the measureables, and they match the tape..Im not really wanting to take there but if you get Corbett at three, And ditch the injury prone lbr it looks solid!!
No, I’m saying if Seattle doesn’t take 50 for Earl Thomas, we’ll turn around and use it on Tarvarius instead.

Dane has D.J. Moore as the 14th best player in the draft, Broaddus has him at 10. I think you could definitely make the argument he’s best value, especially on our board.

And you’re focusing on the wrong LB. Shaq is depth at all three positions. Cichy is the MIKE. I have him as the 3rd best LB in the draft when healthy.

I'm OK with the draft but I don't want to trade a 2nd for ET. Good teams generally don't give up BOTH premium picks AND big cap space for the same player. The Patriots tend to do the opposite. They trade away even great players that have 1 year remaining on their contract. ET will want them to replace his current contract with something like a 4-year, 48M deal with 36M guaranteed. He might take less per but will still want a large guaranteed amount because he will be about 32/33 but the end of it and will not want dummy non-guaranteed salaries at the end.

You might as well just trade up for James or Fitzpatrick.

I don't see him that high, but I'm still in the mid-high teens for him. Still, with all of the QBs pushing players up the board, I'm hoping for something better. Even if he is he's the best value, I still wouldn't take him over Vander Esch or Evans (or certainly not over Vea).

There’s eight players I would take over Moore.

James
Vea
Chubb
Nelson
Fitzpatrick
Smith
Edmunds
Landry

I don’t think any of them will be there, though. Vea looks like the only realistic option they would trade up for, which I fully endorse.

You could make the argument for Evans or LVE at 19, but personally I would rather have Moore. He’s higher on my board. I also feel great about the LB depth later in the draft with Cichy, Jewell, Warner, Jefferson & Griffin, just like others rightfully feel great about the WR depth. If my assessment of LVE is incorrect, then we’re in a win/win position and should be able to adequately address all of our needs with this draft no matter which direction we go at 19.

How about a draft day with Vea or LVE AND Earl Thomas signed for 3 or 4 years? I'd rather have that than Fitzpatrick or James. Still, if we can't do that. I would love one of those guys and would give 50 if I could get one.

What if these had been you options?

Vea
Earl Thomas

There is far great depth a WR than LB in this draft. I don't feel good about starting Cichy, Jewell, Warner, Jefferson or Griffin. Based upon what we have in the LB room, we need a guy who can either start or give lots of meaningful snaps (other than Jewell, I don't think the others can based upon our scheme and what we need). Any of the WR we draft at 50 or later (except for Sutton or St, Brown) could immediately compete to start at Z (Miller, Washington, Gallop etc.).

If these rumors are true that we love Vita Vea, I can see us trading up for him. Lawrence, Vea, Irving & Gregory would be insane.

Would be crazy insane, been needing a guy like him for along time. Would be the one player imo in this draft, that drastically changes the defense.
