Mock draft using Brugler's Beast

I would swap DT for LB.

Golden, Carson Schwesinger and then RB is A+ for me
This, but shoot I'll go a step further and say CB over RB. I mean, I love this, but I have a hard time believing they are not targeting CB with the first 3 picks.

Imagine trading down, grabbing even a 3rd (pipe dream) and then still grabbing Golden or a top WR on our board. This would be an 10/10 draft especially with all the other picks. Man I'd be crazy happy.

That's not a stretch! Last year, Dallas agreed to send pick 24 and a 2025 seventh-rounder to the Detroit Lions in return for pick 29 in the first round and pick 73 in the third round.

If the Cowboys were to trade down 5 spots again this year (Cincinnati), that would equal the 17th pick in both the 3rd and 4th rounds.

Hell yes I would move from 12 to 17 to get 81 and 119.

1 - 17
2 - 44
3 - 76, 81
4 - 119

Brugler has Tetairoa McMillan ranked 12th, so I could have taken him as my first-round WR, but I like Golden's speed and route-running better. I think his ability to get separation better fits our QB play than McMillan's ability to high point the ball.

If you feel that McMillan would be a better pick there, I won't argue with you. Brugler writes that he fits the Tee Higgins mold as a unique playmaker, because of his size and catch-point skills.
I like McMillan just for that, high point the ball. We have not had that since Dez, as he can be a true end zone threat. Which we have not had since Dez as well.

They can find another speed WR, or may have on already on the roster in Campbell.

If we cant trade down ill take this draft

My preference is to trade down from 12 to 20-22 for a 2 and i think one of Golden or Egbuka will be there
Yes I prefer a trade down as well.
I keep saying if Sanders is there. Steelers, or even the Browns may get in a bidding war to trade up.

you buried the lede,Shemar stewart in #9 on the Beast rankings and he is more likely to be drafted by us at 12 over Golden.
The Cowboys local media is so biased when it comes to drafting a receiver. Dane is their guy and they continue to talk about reaching for two players who are more likely to be be Sutton or Ridley. I would rather have a player that that has a Miles Garrett ceiling.

12. WR Matthew Golden, Texas (ranked 15th)
Why? He can play inside or outside and become the go-to target for an NFL offense.

44. RB Kaleb Johnson (ranked 44th)
Why? His play style is reminiscent of DeMarco Murray with a three-down skill set to thrive in a zone-based NFL scheme.

76. DT Joshua Farmer, Florida State (ranked 76th)
Why? He is a force creator with his natural power as a two-gapper and promising pass-rush tools.

149. LB Teddye Buchanan, Cal (5th-round grade)
Why? Buchanan had been a quarterback most of his life, and those instincts have carried over to the defensive side of the ball — his high-volume tackling reflects the way he sees the field and finishes.

171. CB Zah Frazier, UTSA (5th-6th round)
Why? Frazier is a long, lean bump-and-run corner with the speed and coordination to cling to receivers and find the football, when his technique stays consistent.

204. DT Nazir Stackhouse, Georgia (5th-6th round)
Why? Overall, Stackhouse is a naturally powerful human who can two-gap, eat up double teams and make run stops at the line.

211. LB Cody Lindenberg, Minnesota (6th-7th)
Why? With his frame and acceleration, Lindenberg has an interesting collection of traits, which helps him make an impact against both run and pass and as a blitzer.

217. CB Alijah Huzzie, North Carolina (6th-7th)
Why? He accumulated an eye-popping 60 passes defended and 16 interceptions over the past five years. Huzzie has terrific balance and footwork in coverage and was one of the winners during East-West Shrine Bowl practices, because of his efficient movements in drills

239. OL Luke Kandra, Cincinnati (6th-7th)
Why? A physical, brawny blocker, Kandra plays with lock-on strength and controlled aggression to dominate in his square by displacing with upper-body torque or absorbing contact against bull rushers.

247. RB Marcus Yarns, Delaware (7th)
Why? His open-field speed and versatility as a pass catcher can be weaponized by the right team.

I would be happy with this draft, just change some picks for a DE since we need to add depth at that position and possibly find hidden gems, adding at least one DE in general I'm buying it.

Very solid overall, IMO. A WR #2 with speed & some separation skills; two DT's; two LB's; two RB's with opposing skill sets; and a CB with decent size/speed combo (cowboys have had some success in later rounds with CB's as well).

Would also sign CB Hilton to replace Lewis.

My take on it:

#12. Tet McMillan. I'm not overthinking it, he's a stud and we need a WR. Cam Ward was ranked 13th on the big board, so I would take him, but of course there's no way he'll there in the real deal.

#44. Donovan Jackson. We don't really need a guard, but Jackson is another freaking stud. I think he's really close as a prospect to Will Campbell, and at 44, that's just too much talent to pass up. Alfred Collins tempted me as well.

#76. Danny Stutsman. Athletic LB with instincts, I'll take a shot on that any day. I saw that Kyle Williams was available, and I'm intrigued that Chris Simms lost his mind over Williams and called him WR2, but I haven't watched Williams myself.
