Bored so i decided to do a 4 round mock. Now I'm not giving up on the Boys for the season but my confidence that we can steal the division is low. I don't think we tank or want to see us tank so i think we will be picking somewhere 14th-18th pick.

1st. Ezekiel Elliott RB- Best Back this draft and a true impact player. Not much else needs to be said. Wanted Laquon Treadwell but he is a top 10 pick.

2nd. Tyler Boyd WR
- Possibly the 2nd best Wide out this year who's draft stock has fallen due to off field problems. Would not surprise me if the rest of the league rides their high horse again and Jerry laughs in their face for allowing a 1st round talent to fall in his hands in the 2nd once again.

3rd. Karl Joseph SS- We need an upgrade at safety. I feel we already drafted our FS in Byron Jones and both Wilcox and Church only have 1 more year on their contracts so we will need to draft one soon anyways. Karl Joseph is a 2nd round talent that has fallen due to injury. I love his explosiveness and violence when tackling, he shows real playmaking ability, and he is already better then both our safeties in coverage.

4th. Fabian Moreau CB- Like Joseph, he has fallen down a round due to injury. Im sure many would not like to see us take 2 injured players in a row but he is an athletic and smart corner who commits very few penalties. Not to mention Mo and White are FA and Carr is most likely(hopefully) gone. we need to draft at least 1 corner this year.

Comp 4th. Kevin Hogan QB- Honestly wanted to put Eddie Vanderdoes here but 3 injured players is too much and its already been reported that he will most likely return to UCLA for another year due to injury so i chose a QB. Hogan seems to be fluctuating on draft boards, but he has many of the traits that u want to see in a QB. He has a cannon for an arm and is pretty accurate on his passes. He will make multiple reads before resorting to checking down or scrabbling for yards. Hes not afraid to step up in the pocket and take the hit to make a play and he he can throw on the run. Although he plays out of the shotgun the majority of his snaps, he can play under center and he plays in a pro style offense at Stanford. The knock against him seems to be that he needs to control his passes as he will send a pass sailing over his receiver from time to time and that he plays behind a great O line. I think he could be a good option to sit behind romo for the next few years and learn behind a future HOF QB like how Rodgers did in Green Bay( Not saying Hogan will be Rodgers or is as great a player Rodgers was coming out of college.)

Love both Elliot and Boyd. I don't know much about Joseph, but he seems a like a playmaker. Moreau has decent size. He strikes me as kind of "meh," though. Saw him play in person last year and on TV in September. Honestly, I didn't notice him. Maybe that's a good thing. Hogan is an interesting player from just up the road in McLean. Fantastic high school QB. Great athlete with prototypical size and all the tools. He's a four-year starter at Stanford where he has played in a pro-style offense. He really hasn't delivered on his talent, but his numbers are still pretty darn impressive. He's 65% for his career, with 62 TD's and 25 INT's at 8.4 YPA. So far this year, he's at 66.7%, 14/4 and 9.9 YPA. Not too shabby. A little inconsistent, but he could be a huge steal in the 4th round.

yea ive been watching tape and been doing my best to pay attention to some of the mid round corners on game days but their all kinda meh. Few elite DB's this year then it takes a pretty big drop off in talent. What stuck out to me about Moreau is that he's not grabby like most corners. We commit enough penalties as it is. I do like either of the corners out of Minnesota though. Especially Eric Murry as a mid round option. And yea it seems Kevin Hogan is under the radar. CBS has him as a 7th rounder but he should go somewhere in the 4th or 5th due to his tools. Hes starting to turn into my Petcat QB this season.

Tyler Boyd is not getting out of the first round.

Most likely not. Always the chance due to off field issues though. The Media attacking any player that's not a boy scout only helps make that happen. But yea i know its more of a pipe dream but getting Randy Gregory in the 2nd was a pipe dream as well.

Haven't really looked at the QB's yet. But you may be onto something here. If not Hogan, then this is exactly the profile we should be looking for. Right size, good arm strength, plays in pro-style offense. But has enough warts to be a mid-range prospect. Just what we, and hopefully not other teams will be looking for to draft and sit for awhile to coach those warts out of him.
Do the resident draftknicks have any other QB's that fit this description ?
I would go up to a 2nd or 3rd if we needed to. But won't give up a 1st. for a player that will hopefully sit and learn for another 2-3 years.
Rest of your draft looks pretty good too : )

Yea i haven't seen anyone mention Kevin Hogan yet. He is flying completely under the radar. Been watching tape on him, reading writes up on him on draft sites, watching his highlights to see if can make plays happen( which he can) for the past couple weeks. I actual think i need to change my mock already because some playoff team will probably take him late in the 4th. use the comp pick to take the best CB, DT, or KR/PR on the board. I think he has quality starter potential if he gets to sit behind Romo for a few years. If hes a bust then oh well. didn't use a day 1 or day 2 pick on him.

I havent followed Hogan much this year, but I was keeping an eye on him last year. He passed the eye test but I say saw some pretty bi-polar reports on him from potential starter to undraftedable

From what I watched he looked like he could be a legit prospect. A d granted this was last year so I can assume he has improved

Either trade up to get the very best QB in the draft or take BPA.
Depending on where we pick in the first round it may be worth the cost of trading up.

I would rather give a kings ransom for a franchise QB than risk drafting a lesser one in later rounds.

Especially considering this is a quarterback driven league.

Other than that I want Elliott or Henry

A king's ransom, like, three first-rounders, for a low-risk franchise QB like Robert Griffin III? Count me out.

If Lynch or Goff is there when we're up in the first, ok, but I don't want to be trading a bunch of picks for any player. I'd rather draft Treadwell or Elliot in the first and go with a guy like Hackenberrg, Kiel, Dobbs or Wentz somewhere in rounds 2-5.

Cardale Jones will be there too. I am sure about him from the neck down. The neck up not as much.

I think Hogan's delivery/throwing motion is going to hurt him in the NFL. I foresee a lot of fumbles and sacks in his future unless he changes it up. I'd rather take a gamble on a guy like Wentz depending on where the injury makes him drop.

Jamarcus Russell flashbacks....

When I think Jamarcus thoughts are lazy, addicted, stealing money. Jones reminds me of a more mobile James Harris (Ram QB from the 70's). I would call it a huge red flag that he has regressed this year for no apparent reason though.
