Mock Drafts

If our 3-4 were a 2 gap system I'd agree with you however, it's a 1-gap system. They aren't supposed to be blocker eaters like BP 3-4. IF they are even more reason not to draft them high. I've been high on GIlbert for a while now and he's been floating in and out of my mocks also.
I'm not sure I am understanding your reasoning here, since, to be honest, I do not know the difference between a 1 gap and 2 gap 3-4. Please explain.

Furthermore, tell me first if you even see us adding to the DL, and if so, outside of Jarron, who else do you see fitting the mold in the later rounds. My pick after Jarron is Dorell Scott from Clemson in the third.

There is no question the Demarcus Ware deserves to be the highest paid defensive player in the league in my mind! With that having been said, I strongly disagree with your disacknowledgement of the DL's contribution last year.

Like I said, I wouldn't be suprised if the Cowboys went after a WR early, but I would be disappointed. Not that I know more than they do, but I think our season will suffer if we don't address shoring up the defense first. But that is just my opinion.

I think that's important however, if Jarron isn't there I wouldn't immediately go after a safety because I think the best way to improve our pass defense is to improve our pass rush.

I agree. I think we can pick up David Bruton with one of our picks in the 4th. Like I said, I'm pretty much DL all the way up front, at this point.

But for argument sake, if we do address receiver 1st, then I like Hakeem Nicks, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Pat White (although, we could probably pick him up in the 3rd), or Brian Robiskie. I'd still be a little disappointed, but, at least, I'm somewhat familiar with the quality of these guys.

But going back to my side of the argument, if Jarron isn't available, I'm looking for Evander Hood, Ron Brace, or Chris Baker, all guys that could definitely fit the 3-4 mold, and, IMO, would be improvements over what we have currently backing up Marcus Spears and Jay Ratliff.

As long as it is not on the first day. WR is not a huge priority. There are no "holes" as of now:

X Receiver: Roy (split end)
Y Receiver: Austin (flanker)
Z Receiver: Crayton (slot)

Hurd can play all 3 spots. And Felix can also man the Z spot.
