1) Quintin Rollins 6-0/205 CB Miami of Ohio (Carr year 1 or Mo year 2)

2) Preston Smith 6-5/270 DE Mississippi State (Spencer/Selvie)

3) Rob Havenstein 6-8/330 RT Wisconsin (Free)

4) Paul Dawson 6-2/230 LB TCU (Carter)

5) Nick Boyle 6-5/270 (Hanna)

*I realize most these guys are being drafted much higher than where you see them ranked by internet scouting experts. I am projecting they could have serious upside based on Senior Bowl, combine and private workouts. Also, we have shown we aren't afraid to "reach" for guys who meet our specific needs.

Maybe not day one, but the top 4 are starters. Maybe all 5.

Overall I like it. Need to look into Rollins more though.

3rd/4th is a good spot for a RT. Either Free or Parnell will be back and both are solid short termers, but a early mid rounder should be developed

Also I think the 2nd may actually be a better place to draft a DE then the first this year. Its a deep class, but the odds are not good getting a 1st round talent at our spot in the first. I think your looking at someone like Shaq Callhoun as the top DE on the board when we pick and if thats the case I gladly pass for better value. The drop off between that and what we would get in the 2nd wont be much

I like Rollins physical style of play at CB and I think he would be a great fit. He definitely jumps out at you when you watch games.

I like most. I think smith is a 3rd rounder. I don't think he will rise into the 2nd. I would rather go RT in the 2nd like Thompson and get Smith in the 3rd even if we have to trade up in the 3rd to get him

Besides what internet draft sites say what makes you think Preston is a 3?

Nope OL and WR likely to be highest rated players on the board when they draft by a mile. go BPA

Nope. Get in position by moving up or down to draft BPA at a position of need, or else you will forever be filling need positions with the Selvies of the world.

DE class is deep and he is a pure 43 DE so 34 reams will reach on 34 OLBs over him. Causing him to drop. Also he isn't fast. So he isn't a player that can play both sides. Pure Left side. Not quick. Just a smart player and watches the ball. Can go right at the snap and uses strength and good hands. I love watching him when he plays DT.

I think he will be in the mid to early 3rd which will put him before we pick. I think there will be a better graded player at our 2nd round pick. That's why I think he's worth a trade up in the 3rd.

Rank the 4-3 SDE's?

I agree he is slow and unathletic like Travis Frederick pre-draft or like Greg Ellis.

BPA at a position of need is just a fancy way of saying drafting for need

If im sitting at 26 or 27 and I have a top 15 talent at WR and a 2nd round talent at DE sitting there, who do you think in taking?

I'm trading down for extra picks. The way this crew has been drafting mid rounders I'm all for it.

Ok and the alternative is?

Going by there board and taking the highest player and adding the best talent to the team unless that talent is in a place we are stocked. And the only area we are really stocked at is TE. We can use elite young talent virtually every other position

Disagree. Move up and down the board to take BPA at a need position or else you over pay in FA or never fill your needs.
