Disagree. Move up and down the board to take BPA at a need position or else you over pay in FA or never fill your needs.

Or how about making wise FAs signings, stacking your board appropriately and knowing where you can get the best talent at that position and being agressive if you feel a certain player is needed.

"BPA at a need position" is just a term used by fans to find a compromise of need and value. If you have a narrow view of your needs, your just going by need. If you have a wide view of needs, its basically going by need.

The Cowboys target players heavily at certain positions. Three things about how they will approach this draft that I will put my hard earned money on. 1)They will scout DEs heavily. 2) They wont reach on a DE with their pick. Stephan talks about the value anytime he is asked about a pick and Jerry has been burned way too many times reaching for pass rushers. They arent picking a DE 3)If good value is there to trade up for a player they want, or trade down they will do it. My guess is down, because they have been passive since the Claiborne deal in going after targets like Vaccaro and Donald

This is real revelation here. They will scout DE's heavily? Thanks for that nugget.

Move up or down based on where you feel you can get the best value at that position? Again, fresh revelation. You sir, must be a prophet.

As far as Vacarro and Donald, is Vacarro playing better than Church? Maybe they didn't need 3rd 3 technique and one who is 5-11 at that.

They will not be afraid to move up for the right pass rusher if the price is right. They just proved that with Lawrence.

Who cares if he is playing better then Church right now. He was there target and they didnt want to be aggressive. And what did we have a 3 Tech during the draft, a guy on a glorified one year coming off a torn ACL. They targeted Donald, but didnt want to be aggressive. Great stuff Cpt. Hindsight.

You argue the fact we targeted a guy by saying he isnt better then the guy we have now. Because we wanted him to be Churchs back up right

We knew that Crawford would be our starting 3 Tech, and we fooled everyone by playing him for the first quarter of the season at Defensive end. So we knee we were set at 3 Tech.

Oh boy. Which DL were injured the first 1/4 to half the season? Did you come up with Spencer and Lawrence?

K

If they targeted Vacarro and Donald they didn't care a whole bunch or they would have gladly given up picks to do so. Maybe they felt they already had those positions handled?

Naw....couldn't be.

Their not there.

If the position was handled would they have have been targeting and a whole bunch of Safeties in 2013 and 3 Techs last year. Im pretty sure they wouldnt have wasted their time looking at Eric Ried, Jonathan Cyprian and Phillip Thomas and they wouldnt have wasted time looking at Dominique Easley, Will Sutton amd Timmy Jernigan last year

And Crawford was DE when Lawrence was still healthy
